Angels Camp, CA...It's hard to believe but the 2013 Mother Lode League Football Season is underway. Non-League play started for most teams this last weekend with Linden, Amador, starting off with wins and Argonaut and Bret Harte started week one dropping games in varsity games. Local Photog extraordinaire captured the competitive fire of the Frosh Frogs on Thursday Night as they battled Ripon. It was a good hard fought game but BH lost 20-14 on a Ripon TD drive in the last two minutes.

Stolen Mill Model from Logging Museum Reward is now $850 |
Posted by: thepinetree on 08/31/2013 11:29 PM
|
White Pines, CA...Thanks to two concerned citizens who have increased the reward for the return of the mill, or the apprehension of the thief, the reward is now $850. Any information in regard to the mill's theft should be reported to the Calaveras County Sheriff. Sheriff Gary Kuntz has indicated that he is personally very interested in this case, and suggests that his name be mentioned when reporting information about this crime. Early in August someone stole the model of the Sutter Mill that has sat on the front porch of the Sierra Nevada Logging Museum in White Pines/Arnold since the museum opened. The thief cut the bicycle cable that attached the mill model to the porch rail and stole both the model mill and the model horse that the museum used to show how logs were brought to the mill. Anyone with information about the theft of the mill should call the Calaveras County Sheriff at 209.754.6500

If we all did our part to compost instead of throwing these materials in the trash, a large portion of everyday waste could be recovered for reuse. And that’s good for all of us! Here’s a few things you may not have considered for your composting efforts.
