Valley Springs, CA...On September 30th, the Terrace Shopping Center was the center of Breast Cancer awareness in Calaveras County. "Pink In The Night" is back for October's Brest Cancer Awareness Month. There was music, tributes and more for those fighting or recovering from the disease. This year the local Junior Football Teams are taking their support of this cause to high level. The Live Thomas vs Spellman Debate Will Start at 7:10pm...The Replay is Enclosed

Posted by: thepinetree on 09/27/2010 07:00 PM
Valley Springs, CA...We will be starting our debate tonight at about 7:10pm...We had a bit of trouble getting an IP address for the webcasting machine. It is up now so at 7:15pm we go live. We are streaming now and the replay will be up later. We would like to thank the Terrace Shopping Center and Common Grounds for the facilities tonight. We would also like to thank those who stopped by this evening. We held the debate in a vacant area in the shopping center so we could have a quiet area for webcasting and still have it close to District 5. We would like to thank the candidates for participating!!! We tried to be fair and still leave the candidates room to address each other directly. It was an honor to have the candidates address you the viewers and each other for an hour and 45 minutes. The replay is enclosed...

One on One with Bret Harte Alum and UCLA Offensive Tackle Brett Downey ~with Video By John Hamilton

Posted by: thepinetree on 08/08/2010 08:36 AM
Angels Camp, CA...At 6" & 265lbs of adipose tissue I don't normally feel like a midget but I did on Friday morning at Bret Harte's Dorroh Field. We had the pleasure to chat with UCLA's Offensive Tackle Brett Downey. At 6'7" and 310lbs Brett hopes to become an integral part of the UCLA offensive line this year. Bret is up 60lbs from his playing weight at Bret Harte with earning a starting spot at UCLA and then the Pros as a goal he hopes to build up to 325-330lbs. If you have seen the move "The Blind Side" then you know what position he plays...

"America The Beautiful" It Was .....in Arnold This Morning for Arnold's Annual Parade~Video by Dylan Richardson

Posted by: thepinetree on 07/03/2010 10:59 PM
Arnold, CA...The 4th of July means a lot of different things to Americans. The flags, BBQ, a family get together, or vacation. The flags wave tall and proud up and down Hwy 4 and it brings a smile to my face. Just knowing that people want to support their country and celebrate it makes my chest swell with pride. This Holiday is still sore with losing a brave young man Lance CPL Gavin Brummund. The community has showed their support in many ways and for some reason the flags seem to be more abundant, visible, and meaningful not just to me but to everyone. Jenny Cantrell's version of the National Anthem was powerful and made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I could tell that I wasn't the only one with goose bumps in the crowd. Jenny is a singer for the local band Chains Required and after that performance its required that I go see some of her vocal talents with her band elsewhere. Please take a look at the video enclosed below and thank you.

Posted by: thepinetree on 06/27/2010 10:48 PM
Murohys, CA....The grills were on fire, the smoke is churning, and the meat was sizzling at the 5th Annual BBQ Competiition held out at Ironstone Vineyards today. Executive Chef James Lehman said "This is the best year ever for the competition". I talked to several judges about what they were looking for. Some liked a glaze of BBQ sauce some liked a light coat. But when it came down to it the Brown Brothers, Smokin Cellar Rats, and the Pork Purveyors took the big honors. The Typsy Chicks were just as fun as they were portrayed in the enclosed video. Blowin Smoke another team I had the .....

Planning, Branding, Dedications and more Planning in Angels Camp Last Night

Posted by: thepinetree on 03/03/2010 11:05 AM
Angels Camp, CA...It was a full evening of meetings last night at the Firehouse in Angels Camp. At times the temperature rose a bit but not to a combustion level that needed any attention from professionals standing by. The high points of the meeting were that all the agenda items passed and this includes finalizing the Branding and Identity for the City and appointing the Branding Leadership Team as the Branding Czars for the City. They will also be the committee to approve requests for usage of the new marks in advertising and other uses. The Carriage House at the Museum was dedicated to..
