San Andreas , CA...California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) will be completing a hazardous fuel reduction burn near the intersection of Calaveritas Road and Old Gulch Road South of the community of San Andreas California on Saturday December 5th and Sunday December 6th, 2020. The burn encompasses approximately 50 acres of annual grass, brush and oak woodland within view of Calaveritas Road.

Mountain Ranch & Valley Springs, CA...In 1950, we started out as a family operation with Erich’s father and mother, August and Freida Sender, in a century-old adobe building. The upstairs was home to the Sender family, and the first floor included groceries, a meat market, a bar, and a small eating place called Opa’s Smokehouse. On Christmas morning in 1968, the old store was destroyed by fire. But in June 1969, Sender’s Market, Inc. was opened. Since that time, there have been many changes, including remodeling, expansion, and the addition of many employees. That’s also when we added the truss plant and purchased Sender’s Market Ace Hardware in Valley Springs. Today, we're still family owned and still working hard to stock everything from pantry essentials to power tools. Murphys, CA...The Bret Harte FFA Chapter hosted the 31st annual Cow Pie Social at Ironstone Vineyards on Friday, October 30th beginning at 5:30 in the evening. Due to the COVID restrictions, the Bret Harte FFA chapter had to find a new way to continue a community tradition and our members sold tickets for a chance at three cash prizes and each buyer also received a Cow Pie T-Shirt. The Cow Pie drop was live streamed in facebook & instagram as well as filmed for the community to watch at their convenience.
