Posted by: thepinetree on 04/07/2014 10:40 AM
Toronto, Canada...Eating one serving a day of beans, peas, chickpeas or lentils can significantly reduce “bad cholesterol” and therefore the risk of cardiovascular disease, a new study has found. The study, led by Dr. John Sievenpiper of the hospital’s Clinical Nutrition and Risk Factor Modification Centre, was published today in the Canadian Medical Association Journal...

Mark Twain Medical Center Orthopaedics Provides Pain Relief FREE informational event Tuesday, April 8th from 5 to 7 p.m. at CAMPS Restaurant in Angels Camp

Posted by: thepinetree on 04/02/2014 12:02 PM
San Andreas, CA...Joint pain can be caused by a variety of factors. Recent injuries (or old ones that never healed properly) are often to blame. For some, wear is simply a matter of age and genetic disposition. Whatever the cause, diagnosis by a qualified doctor is the first step to resolving the pain and regaining an active lifestyle. Once diagnosed, what can be done about it? Patients of the Orthopaedic department at Mark Twain Medical Center are often amazed at just how soon they are able to return to their favorite activities...

Suffering in Silence? Pinnacle Physical Therapy Can Help

Posted by: Andy_Johnson on 03/27/2014 04:17 PM
Angels Camp, CA...Pelvic pain and dysfunction of the bowel and bladder systems effect far more people than are reported. In fact, incontinence is the #1 reason for admission to a skilled nursing facility. Because it is a private and sensitive region, there is embarrassment and social isolation associated with pelvic dysfunction, but in many cases, physical therapy can help. Pelvic rehab is a sub-specialty of orthopedic physical therapy. Theresa Locke, DPT, is trained to assess pelvic muscles as well as design a plan to address pain, incontinence, post-op and post-partum conditions. Treatment of this condition has been part of her practice for many years but she continues to study new information and attend continuing education to stay current and informed in the field. Patients seeking help for this condition at Pinnacle Physical Therapy will receive treatment from a well-qualified, experienced and understanding clinician. Enclosed is their complete March Newsletter...
