Murphys, CA...On June 25th at around 4:15 PM my father suffered a severe stroke that disabled the left side of his body and required his admission to the UC Davis medical center in the Neurosurgery Intensive Care Unit where he currently resides. We were incredibly fortunate to have been there for him, and we got him to the hospital within three hours of the event so that he could be administered life-saving medicine. Unfortunately, this did not do as much as the doctors had hoped and his condition worsened. The right lobe of his brain had continued to swell, and I had to give the go-ahead for a craniectomy. This is an operation that allows for pressure to be relieved in his head, but left my father without one side of his skull.
