Dr. Grimes has spent the last 22 years practicing in San Andreas where she devoted her time to the care of women and adolescents in the areas of family planning and wellness exams. In her new practice, Dr. Grimes will provide well woman exams and family planning consultations and treat a variety of gynecologic conditions.

Sonora, CA... Earlier this year Sonora Regional Medical Center’s Foundation Office welcomed Kara Turpen as its Manager of Philanthropy. Turpen came to the Medical Center from Rocky Mountain Adventist Healthcare Foundation (RMAHF) in Denver, Colorado, where she held increasingly responsible positions at their foundation before leaving to join SRMC. She received her bachelor’s degree in public relations from Southern Adventist University and holds a Certified Fund Raising Executive credential.

San Andreas, CA...The public is welcome to attend the Spring Fling Bazaar on Tuesday, April 11 from 8 am to 2 pm at Mark Twain Medical Center (MTMC), 768 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas. Available for purchase will be handmade items including Easter baskets, Easter wreaths, floral arrangements and a variety of crafts and baked goods. Hosted by the MTMC Foundation Volunteers, the Spring Fling is a fundraiser to support their Scholarship Program for students embarking on a career in healthcare.

Physician Appointment Wait Times Up Nationwide – 30 percent increase from 2014 |

Sonora, CA...A new survey released this month by Merritt Hawkins, a national physician search firm, has found a 30 percent increase from 2014 to 2017 in the average wait time to schedule a new patient physician appointment in 15 of the largest cities in the nation. “Physician appointment wait times are the longest they have been since we began conducting the survey,” said Mark Smith, president of Merritt Hawkins. “Growing physician appointment wait times are a significant indicator that the nation is experiencing a shortage of physicians.”
