Angels Camp, CA...It is Time to Get Back in the Water Again. Aquatic therapy and exercise provides resistance without stress on either joints or sore muscles. It is the ideal way to get back into shape after surgery or an injury. Pinnacle Physical Therapy will begin their Aquatic Therapy Program commencing June 1, 2015. Interested parties should be calling the clinic at 209-736-0956 to schedule an evaluation and confirm appointment times. We had the pleasure to spend a few minutes talking with Theresa Locke, PT, DPT who started Pinnacle Physical Therapy over 20 years ago. In addition to their full range of office based services they also offer seasonal aquatic therapy for those who have medical issues such as arthritis, diabetes, balance deficits, cardio-rehab or overall de-conditioning. Because water supports the weight of your body moving is easier and less painful....

London, UK...A genetically engineered herpes virus can halt the progression of skin cancer by killing cancer cells and sparking the immune system into action against tumours, a landmark clinical trial has shown. It is the first time that a Phase III trial of viral immunotherapy has definitively shown benefit for patients with cancer.

Friends Rallying Behind Rosendo Rojas In His Battle Against Brain Cancer |

Vallecito, CA...Friends of Rosendo Rojas, the 24 year old Vallecito resident who is waging an heroic battle against a rare form of terminal brain cancer, are rallying behind him by organizing ways to raise funds to help meet the mounting costs that are not covered by insurance. The Bret Harte High School graduate was diagnosed in April 2013 with a rare form of terminal brain cancer, Grade III anaplastic ganglioglioma. Having already defied the odds by outliving his initial prognosis, Rojas recently had a three-hour seizure at Sonora Regional Hospital and was helicoptered to the intensive care unit at UC Davis Medical Center. While there an emergency MRI showed new tumor regrowth and a third emergency craniotomy was done on March 4th. Only 90% could be removed and it's been elevated to a Grade IV GBM - glioblastoma multiforme, with very poor survival odds...

Murphys, CA...There is a lack of resources and support for LGBTQ youth in Calaveras County. Some of us are getting together to start a support group for teens in the area. This will be a planning meeting. We invite all youth and adults interested in supporting them to come to the meeting so we can talk about how we can best support the youth in our community....
