Posted by: thepinetree on 01/19/2017 01:49 PM
Arnold & Groveland, CA...Your local Meadowmont & Groveland Pharmacies Can Help You Reach Your Goals. Click the image below for this month's health newsletter. New Year’s resolutions are so easy to make — and break. Why is it so hard to make them last? Scientists, funded by the National Institutes of Health, are learning more about how we can make healthy changes and sustain them. “Change is always possible,” says Dr. Linda Nebeling, an expert in behavioral change and nutrition at NIH. “One challenge with New Year’s resolutions is that people often set unrealistic goals. Any resolution to change needs to include small goals that are definable and accompanied by a solid plan on how you’ll get to that goal.”

Julie Eckardt-Cantrall is the new Chief Philanthropy Officer for the Mark Twain Medical Center Foundation.

San Andreas, CA...Julie Eckardt-Cantrall is the new Chief Philanthropy Officer for the Mark Twain Medical Center Foundation. Her goal is to raise awareness that individual giving plays a key role in improving health care excellence. “Awareness is the first step in fundraising,” she says. “We want people to know their personal donations to the Foundation are needed, important and appreciated. We understand that a gift of $50 may be quite a stretch for one individual, while others might choose to donate larger amounts,” she notes. “A balance of large and small gifts is essential – and each should receive equal gratitude.”

Study Finds There May A Blessing In The Curse

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/17/2017 05:24 PM
Cambridge, UK...It’s long been associated with anger and coarseness but profanity can have another, more positive connotation. Psychologists have learned that people who frequently curse are being more honest. Writing in the journal Social Psychological and Personality Science a team of researchers from the Netherlands, the UK, the USA and Hong Kong report that people who use profanity are less likely to be associated with lying and deception. Profanity is obscene language which, in some social settings is considered inappropriate and unacceptable. It often refers to language that contains sexual references, blasphemy or other vulgar terms. It’s usually related to the expression of emotions such as anger, frustration or surprise. But profanity can also be used to entertain and win over audiences.

Patient Comfort Is Goal For Diagnostic Imaging Team At Mark Twain Medical Center

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/13/2017 07:52 PM
San Andreas, CA...The Diagnostic Imaging team at Mark Twain Medical Center knows their services can be scary. That’s why they concentrate as much on patient service skills as they do on state-of-the art equipment. Imaging Services Director Rick Reed explains, “We understand that our tests can create some anxious situations for patients. The equipment can be intimidating, so it’s important we help patients understand the process and make the experience as pleasant as possible. We emphasize these tests are a critical first step in their treatment.” The department provides a wide range of services and averages some 2,500 tests a month. On-site that includes general X-ray, CT scan, nuclear medicine, ultra sound, mammography, and MRI; plus a mobile PET CT that visits MTMC every other week.

Great & Lifesaving Work By Local Deputies According To Sheriff Rick DiBasilio

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/08/2017 10:42 AM
Murphys, CA...This morning Sheriff DiBasilio shared the following.."Last night Calaveras sheriff's patrol staff was dispatched to a medical aid on French Gulch Road in Murphys. The original report was a two year old unresponsive and not breathing, which caught the attention of everyone. Deputy Houston, Corporal Cechini and Angels PD responded and arrived within only a few minutes and were met with a frantic family in the driveway. Deputy Houston rushed into the house and immediately took over CPR on a juvenile. The juvenile was unresponsive and his color was fading quickly, which for a first responder is an obvious sign of a serious condition. Deputy Houston's quick actions revived the juvenile to a state where he began breathing again and was manageable for transportation to Mark Twain Hospital.
