Posted by: thepinetree on 08/21/2008 03:27 PM
San Andreas, CA...The Murphys Hotel will finally get a new sign. In what has been a lengthy process the Murphys Hotel has won the right to replace the aging sign with a new recreation of the 1940's era sign that adorned the front of the Hotel. Some in the community including Supervisor Tom Tryon have not wanted to see a neon sign go up in Murphys. In speaking with Hotel Owner Dorian Faught a few weeks ago he explained that the new sign will...

Welcome Tammy Beilstein and "Embracing Family Home Funerals"

Posted by: Kim_Hamilton on 08/19/2008 11:42 PM
Calaveras County, CA....Tammy Beilstein has started a new endeavor and we would like to wish her well...."Embracing Family Home Funerals" is the name of her new business. Her family has been in the mortuary business since 1903 and she grew up doing that work. Tammy always assumed she would be a funeral director and take over the family business one day. She has now journeyed out on her own starting "Embracing Family Home Funerals" as a Home Funeral Guide. "What this means is that I will help people who choose to care for their deceased loved one AT HOME instead of using a funeral home. I will help the family prepare the body, arrange any special spiritual, cultural or traditional services either in their home or at a location of their choosing, arrange for burial or cremation, etc....
