Burson, CA...We had the opportunity to tour the Trinitas Golf Course in Burson with The Ridge At Trinitas owner, designer Mike Nemee. We also tried to ask Mike some tough questions on the project and how it came into being. Permitting, Ag Tourism, Tree Preservation, Land Use and more were just some of the topics we covered. From the Human interest side it really is a great story. It is a stunning facility with greens, fairways and tee boxes mixed in with the Old Oaks and Olive Trees. It looks like it was always there. Trinitas is a world class golf course not built by Jack Nicholas or Robert Trent Jones but by Mike Nemee and his family. This is our very own "Field of Dreams" story in our backyard. When we toured the facility on a late summer morning it was hard to believe that just a couple of years ago this beautiful course...

Arnold, CA. --Earl B. Ribbit, a member of the famous Painted Frogs of Calaveras County became the newest member of the Arnold Rotary Club in a special ceremony conducted last Thursday at the club’s weekly meeting. In his acceptance speech, Earl stated that he is committed to raising funds for Arnold Rotary’s many service projects at the Painted Frogs’ Annual Gala Auction on October 25th, sponsored by the Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce......

Angels Camp, CA....Draft Environmental Impact Report for the Angels Camp 2020 General Plan was the topic of discussion at a Tuesday Meeting held at the Angels Fire House. The City conducted an open house to solicit public and agency input to identify potential environmental effects that may be associated with the adoption of the plan. For those of you who could not attend the meeting we taped the discussions. If you would like some light reading just click on the link for the over 900 page report. Calaveras County, CA....The Endowment for Youth Program, sponsored by Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital, is now accepting applications for the 2008 Endowment for Youth Program. Each year the hospital’s Thrift Stores provide funding opportunities for not-for-profit Calaveras County projects that provide services to children ages 0-18. In 2007, $34,426 was awarded to 62 community organizations in support of their individual youth projects. To obtain an application, please contact Diana Rodrigues at 736-0864. ....
