Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital changes its name to Mark Twain Medical Center

San Andreas, CA....Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital (MTSJH) Hospital President Craig Marks announced that MTSJH has changed its name to Mark Twain Medical Center (MTMC). “After my arrival at MTSJH in May,” stated Marks, “we began to reexamine our Mission, Vision, and Values. As we progressed in this dialogue, it became very clear that MTSJH is much more than just a hospital. We need to be the center of healthcare for the residents and visitors to Calaveras County. This does not mean we will meet every healthcare need, but for those services we don’t provide we have partners throughout the Dignity Health System that can. In addition, there are many services that we have not provided in the past that we can and should provide local. For example, on January 7, we are opening a cancer center, complete with chemotherapy infusion center, and PET/CT scanner to meet the medical oncology needs of local residents.
