Top 500 Sales and Use Tax Delinquencies in California

Sacramento – The California State Board of Equalization (BOE) today updated its online list of the Top 500 sales and use tax delinquencies, which total $501.7 million in taxes for the fourth quarter of 2013. Also, an interactive map displays location, account name, and amount owed by delinquent taxpayers.

Open house slated next week for Rim Fire Hazard Trees Project

Sonora, CA...The Stanislaus National Forest will be hosting an open house on December 10 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Stanislaus National Forest Supervisor’s Office (19777 Greenley Road, Sonora, CA 95370). “The purpose of the open house is to provide an opportunity for the public and stakeholders to familiarize themselves with the proposed Rim Fire Hazard Trees (Rim HT) project details, and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process. Rural Roads Workshop Coming to Jamestown December 13th

Sonora, CA – The University of California Cooperative Extension is hosting a workshop on Designing, Improving & Maintaining Rural Roads from 8:00 to 4:30 pm December 13th at the Jamestown Community Hall, 18250 Main Street Jamestown, CA. The goal of workshop is to provide landowners and land/road managers with an overview of the design and functions of low standard roads used for agriculture, resource management, residential access and recreation. The workshop will provide tools for evaluating the conditions and environmental impacts of existing roads, introduce practices that may be used to improve existing roads and eliminate problems, and outline procedures for maintaining roads to reduce potential for failure or impaired functioning especially in the aftermath of the Rim Fire.

The 2013 and 23rd Annual Angels Camp Christmas Parade

Angels Camp, CA...Angels Camp’s 2013 Christmas celebrations filled historic downtown Angels Camp on Saturday. The 23rd annual Christmas Parade and the Christmas Open House brought a festive air to Main Street. Bob and Marlene Bach were the Grand Marshals. Bob Bach was the Superintendent of Schools for many years and has been integrally involved in education in the area for decades. Santa Claus on an Angels Camp fire truck finished up the parade but there were lots of great floats and entrants including the Greenhorn Creek Kazoo group, great family floats, youth groups and of course Miss Calaveras, Junior Miss Calaveras and the Saddle Queen to bring a bit of beauty to the event...

Stewardship Council Announces Donation of Kennedy Meadows Lands to Tuolumne County

San Mateo, Calif., December 4, 2013 – The Pacific Forest and Watershed Lands Stewardship Council (Stewardship Council) announces that a major milestone in its land conservation program has been achieved with the donation of PG&E-owned watershed lands at Kennedy Meadows to the County of Tuolumne. The lands’ conservation values will be permanently protected by a conservation easement held by the Mother Lode Land Trust.
