Apple Reports Record First Quarter Results

Cupertino, CA...Apple® today announced financial results for its fiscal 2016 first quarter ended December 26, 2015. The Company posted record quarterly revenue of $75.9 billion and record quarterly net income of $18.4 billion, or $3.28 per diluted share. These results compare to revenue of $74.6 billion and net income of $18 billion, or $3.06 per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter. Gross margin was 40.1 percent compared to 39.9 percent in the year-ago quarter. International sales accounted for 66 percent of the quarter’s revenue.

Butte & Valley Fires Cause An Estimated $1 Billion In Insurance Losses

Sacramento, CA...Two of the most destructive fires in California's history, the Valley and Butte Fires, ravaged nearly 150,000 acres in Northern California last fall and caused an estimated $1 billion in insurance losses. The Valley fire pillaged 1,958 structures in Lake, Napa and Sonoma counties, resulting in approximately $700 million in insured losses and making it the third most damaging wildfire in state history based on total structures burned. In terms of structures lost, the Butte Fire is the seventh most destructive fire to hit California, damaging 818 structures in Amador and Calaveras counties and causing an estimated $300 million in insured losses.

Sacramento Church Supports Butte Fire Survivors

Sacramento, CA...In late December, a Christian Church based in a Sacramento suburb followed-up on their promise to help survivors of the Butte Fire to thrive. Jeannie Hayward of Calaveras Recovers (and the Resource Connection) told the group of churchmen that their, “wonderful efforts would be very appreciated” by the community here. The church of Christ Community delivered a check in the amount of $6,595.00 to Ms. Hayward for Calaveras Recovers to use in the rebuilding of the communities impacted by the fire.

Local Model Makes Her NY Fashion Week Debut & Much More

Murphys, CA...Claudia Andona is elated about walking for the first time in New York Fashion Week for couture designer Lulu et Gigi. At 5 years old she will be the youngest child to have ever walked for the French designer. In October, Claudia made her runway debut and walked for couture kids designer Nancy Vuu in LA Fashion Week. Claudia 6 short months ago when she signed with MDT in San Francisco. She has since modeled for such companies as Driscoll’s Strawberries, Dave and Bella, Pottery Barn, and filmed the commercial Mr. Telp (link below). In September, she was published in Young Fashion Kids Magazine as one of “September’s Most Beautiful” and in October she was featured in Surreal Beauty Magazine Jr. edition. When Claudia isn’t modeling or acting she loves playing with her classmates in transitional kindergarten at Michelson Elementary in her hometown of Murphys, California. She also enjoys baseball, soccer, ballet, gymnastics, horseback riding and boutique modeling. When she isn’t doing an activity you will find her playing Legos, dress up, or with one of her animals. She is honestly a pint sized fire cracker that loves everything sparkly and gold and is always up for a new adventure.

Angels Camp, CA...(Frogtown)..Governor Brown recently made appointments to the Calaveras County Fair Board of Directors. Gay Callan has been on the board since 1991. She was instrumental in starting the professional wine competition at the Calaveras County Fair. She has been board president twice in the tenure. She is one of the longest serving fair directors in the State. She and her husband George ranch and live in Esmeralda Valley...
