Update..."Dancing with Sierra Stars" Raises Over $98K for Hospital Foundation...Congratuations to The Navas Couple as the Dance Winners, Larry Cornish Peoples Choice Award!

Posted by: thepinetree on 11/14/2009 09:09 PM
Murphys, CA...The Sold Out Alhambra Room at Ironstone is still filled with over 200 of the area's gliteratti that are really glittering tonight. Black ties and sequinned gowns are standard faire. They have yet to announce the judged dancing routines but the real winner is already apparent. The Hospital Foundation stands to gain significantly from tonight's event. We spoke with the Foundation's Nicki Stevens and while they are still tabulating...the event should raise over $60,000 for the Foundation. The Kautz Family was unbelievably generous with their huge contribution of 200 dinners for tonight's fundraiser....

Even the President Sent His Best Wishes on the 25th Anniversary of the Hospital Foundation!

Posted by: thepinetree on 11/07/2009 08:39 PM
WASHINGTON, D.C., Nov. 7, 2009 - The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA or the Big “I”), today expressed their disappointment with the Democratic Health Care Reform bill that was passed by the U.S. House of Representatives. “Just last week, the House Democratic Leadership unveiled a 1,990 page bill that was touted as the byproduct of months of negotiations between House Democratic Leadership and members of the moderate and more liberal factions of their caucus yet the ‘revised’ bill closely resembles the original bill,” says Robert Rusbuldt, Big “I” president & CEO. “The Big ‘I’ is greatly disappointed that after months of negotiations, hearings, votes and debate in three House committees we seem to be back on square one: a bad bill that includes a ‘public option’ and deprives the American people of true choices in their health care.”...

Posted by: thepinetree on 11/04/2009 06:35 AM
Arnold, CA...The Meadowmont Shopping Center is the place to be in Arnold with two new businesses opening in the space of a week. We stopped by the New Calaveras Society's Thrift Store just before opening last week. There was a line formed just waiting to get in. It was an auspicious start for the new home for bargain hunters in Calaveras County. Jenny Roland former owner of Highland Books is the new store manager and all of the Humane Society Volunteers have done a great job getting the store ready to go....
