Calaveras Community Foundation Adds Two Board Members |

Angels Camp, CA...Terry Beaudoin and Gil Valtierra were recently welcomed to the Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF) Board of Directors. The Beaudoin family moved to Valley Springs in 1986. Since then Terry has been involved in several local fund raising efforts and was on the founding board of the “Kids Place” after school day care which is still running at Valley Springs Elementary. He is a former Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus. Terry and wife Sharon raised their 2 children in the Calaveras school system and have developed a great love for this county...

Washington, DC...Total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 162,000 in July, and the unemployment rate edged down to 7.4 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Employment rose in retail trade, food services and drinking places, financial activities, and wholesale trade...

Airman Alex Molina Graduates with Honors |

Arnold, CA...Arnold native and Bret Harte Grad Airman Alex Molina graduated from The Air Force BMT program with honors on July 19th. He was in the top 10% out of 800 graduates. He is currently attending tech school at Keesler AFB in Mississippi and will finish out tech school in Sheppard AFB in Texas. He will continue his military career in Avionics. His family is from Arnold and was born and raised in Arnold and attended Bret Harte.

SONORA, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation has released for public review and comment the Draft Environmental Assessment for the New Melones Lake Concession Development. Located in Calaveras and Tuolumne counties, Calif., New Melones Lake is operated by Reclamation for multiple purposes including flood control, irrigation and municipal water supplies, hydroelectric production, water quality, fish and wildlife enhancement and recreation.

The beautiful new store is filled to the brim with great deals for your purchase and the funds go to help support the Calaveras Humane Society and their activities for the animals in our community.
