San Andreas, CA...After a series of meetings with Ford Construction, the Calaveras County Water District has withdrawn its appeal of a proposed asphalt batch plant along the Calaveras River at Ford’s gravel quarry in Rancho Calaveras. The withdrawal comes after a written agreement between the construction company and CCWD was signed on Tuesday, June 23, which satisfies the concerns CCWD had over potential impacts the plant would have on water quality.

Sonora, California, June 16, 2015 – The Stanislaus National Forest will be hosting a workshop on July 8th to review potential alternatives for the reforestation project, within the Rim Fire area. “Sixty-five comments were received during our 45-day scoping period which ended on April 13th,” said Jeanne Higgins, Forest Supervisor, Stanislaus National Forest. “Now our goal is to provide the community an opportunity to review the draft alternatives that were developed to address the concerns that were raised. State Water Board Approves 16 Percent Conservation Standard for CCWD |
Posted by: thepinetree on 06/17/2015 12:10 PM
|
San Andreas, CA...After working with the State Water Resources Control Board over the past month, CCWD’s mandatory water conservation standard has been reduced from 32 percent to 16 percent. CCWD believes this is a much more appropriate conservation standard, and the District is grateful to State Board staff for providing excellent guidance that allowed adjustments to the amount of water used by residential customers and better accounting for peak population during the summer. While this reduction in mandatory conservation to 16 percent has many benefits, it is important for CCWD customers to continue their conservation efforts as the state is endures a fourth consecutive year of extreme drought...

Fed Leaves Interest Rates Unchanged... |
Posted by: thepinetree on 06/17/2015 12:29 PM
|
Washington, DC... Information received since the Federal Open Market Committee met in April suggests that economic activity has been expanding moderately after having changed little during the first quarter. The pace of job gains picked up while the unemployment rate remained steady. On balance, a range of labor market indicators suggests that underutilization of labor resources diminished somewhat. Inflation continued to run below the Committee's longer-run objective, partly reflecting earlier declines in energy prices and decreasing prices of non-energy imports; energy prices appear to have stabilized. Market-based measures of inflation compensation remain low; survey-based measures of longer-term inflation expectations have remained stable...
