Angels Camp, CA...Enjoy the Sierra Foothills on a 5K/10K race through the historic town of Angels Camp. A community sponsored run that benefit the students of Mark Twain Elementary School. This race will kick off with a Kids 1 Mile Fun Run at 8:00am. 5K & 10K will start at 8:30. All races begin in historic downtown Angels Camp at The Visitors Center. The race will conclude at Utica Park in Angels Camp. Along the race route, runners will enjoy many scenic and historic elements along the way to include Angels Creek, Gold Cliff, Lightner Mine, views of Bear Mountain and Greenhorn Creek Golf Course. It is not uncommon to spot grazing deer, wild turkeys, an abundance of birds and our resident cattle and horses.

The following is from the Harvard Medical School that should have all of us cutting back on the antibiotics. "In a creative stroke inspired by Hollywood wizardry, scientists from Harvard Medical School and Technion-Israel Institute of Technology have designed a simple way to observe how bacteria move as they become impervious to drugs. The experiments, described in the Sept. 9 issue of Science, are thought to provide the first large-scale glimpse of the maneuvers of bacteria as they encounter increasingly higher doses of antibiotics and adapt to survive—and thrive—in them.
