San Andreas, CA...The Diagnostic Imaging team at Mark Twain Medical Center knows their services can be scary. That’s why they concentrate as much on patient service skills as they do on state-of-the art equipment. Imaging Services Director Rick Reed explains, “We understand that our tests can create some anxious situations for patients. The equipment can be intimidating, so it’s important we help patients understand the process and make the experience as pleasant as possible. We emphasize these tests are a critical first step in their treatment.” The department provides a wide range of services and averages some 2,500 tests a month. On-site that includes general X-ray, CT scan, nuclear medicine, ultra sound, mammography, and MRI; plus a mobile PET CT that visits MTMC every other week.

Arnold, CA...Update at 11 a.m. Thursday Jan. 12: CCWD Crews worked with T&S Construction throughout the night Wednesday to stabilize the exposed water transmission pipeline that provides Arnold’s main water supply. A metal I-beam was placed across the washed-out section of Blagen Road directly over the exposed pipeline, and heavy duty straps were wrapped from the beam to the pipeline to provide stability. These straps will help immobilize the pipe and reduce the risk of failure.

Arnold, CA...CCWD will be working with T&S Construction crews throughout the night to stabilize the threatened main water transmission line. The series of storms that has drenched Calaveras County over the past week caused flood waters in Big Trees Creek to overwhelm the culvert under Blagen Road in White Pines. About half the roadway has sustained significant flooding damage and is impassable, and Blagen Road will be closed to the public on the south side of the bridge until further notice...
San Andreas, CA...The San Antonio Creek was at flood stage today after a powerful storm over the weekend. This creek is one of the main tributaries of the Calaveras River, which flows into New Hogan Reservoir near Valley Springs. Since January 1, Hogan's water level has risen by more than 30,000 acre feet. CCWD uses water released from Hogan to serve more than 10,000 customers in the greater Valley Springs area.
