Momenteum Builds For Opening Day At Bear Valley

Arnold, CA....A couple of weeks ago The Meadowmont Shopping Center played host to the Bear Valley Job Fair for the 2014/15 Season. There was a great turnout and they are getting fully staffed and ready to go. The will be starting weekend operations on Thanksfiving weekend with the Winterfest Celebrations and Wheels will be turning at the Mountain for activities that with colder overnight temps and snow in the forecast may include some limited terrain. They still have openings for part time ski and board instructors so their still may openings left to join the team.

Court Halts Construction Of Pine Grove Dollar General Project

Jackson, CA...On November 14, 2014 Amador County Superior Court Judge Steven Hermanson ordered construction activities for the proposed Dollar General store in Pine Grove must stop immediately. On October 24, 2014 Amador County issued a building permit to property owner Del Rapini to begin construction of the project. Last week the Pine Grove Business Alliance, a group of Pine Grove residents and business owners, filed a legal action challenging that permit. The lawsuit asserts that the Dollar General store proposed for that location violates the County's zoning ordinance and General Plan, and that the County had failed to evaluate or mitigate environmental impacts from the project as required by CEQA -- the California Environmental Quality Act...

San Andreas, CA...Curves Assistant Manager, Laura delivered an over sized donation check to Mark Twain Medical Center Foundation Cancer Center last Wednesday!! Many, many thanks to all of our Curves members, Flamingo Flocking Chairman Charnette and all of her hard work; the local businesses for their donations for our raffle baskets and the many new members to Curves of Valley Springs, for their $10 donation for 10 Free workouts. We raised $550!! There were quite a few hospital staff and volunteers in attendance at the Cancer Center this morning when the check was delivered!! Go Curves!!

Brisbane, AU...The G20 meetings have wrapped up and the world leaders representing 85-90% of the world's economic output are jetting home. Since official communication has to be vetted by many parties the releases on various topics will always be quite bland from summits such as this. Behind the wording of the beige pronouncements was real jockeying for position on Fossil Fuels, Climate Change, Tax Policy with a focus on avoiding revenue loss for the assembled economies, Infrastructure, The Global Economy and assuring it's continued growth...

House Passes Cassidy Bill to Build Keystone XL Pipeline

Washington, DC.... Congressman Bill Cassidy (R-LA) applauded the House of Representatives for passing the Cassidy bill, H.R. 5682, to build the Keystone XL pipeline. The House approved the bill by a vote of 252 to 161. A vote on the legislation is expected in the Senate next week...
