PetSmart Joins Jo-Ann Fabrics in Former Mervyn’s Location

Sonora, CA. ...Following on the announcement last week that Jo-Ann Fabric and Crafts is locating in Sonora, Economic Development Director Larry Cope announced today that PetSmart, Inc. will also be opening in the former Mervyn’s location. City Administrator Tim Miller speaks for the City of Sonora when he says, “We’re excited to welcome PetSmart to our community. Here is another national retailer who saw a marketing niche, just like Jo-Ann’s, creating even more jobs, including management positions.”

Concord, CA - Round Table Pizza, Inc. said yesterday it filed a petition for protection under Chapter 11 with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Oakland designed to improve the company's cash flow and stabilize its business through recapitalization of its debt and renegotiation of above-market leases. Despite improving business performance and expense reductions, the company said seeking legal protection under Chapter 11 was necessary to improve the company's competitiveness as the economy recovers...

Sonora, CA...I am a technology enthusiast and have worked in the Information Technology field for the last twelve years. As someone who’s followed news of new gadgets and technology as a hobby and for use in my professional life, I was extremely excited by the news of the iPhone. This device seemed to me more than just a new phone; it had the potential to be much more, an internet gateway that fit in the palm of my hand, a true mobile computer. The possibilities were endless, or so I thought.
I was one of the first people in line for an iPhone 3G at my local store. I had waited a long time, scrimped and saved, and drooled at the news and reviews that had been coming out. Now at long last my love affair with a device had started. That love affair lasted a week...

Stockton, CA...At a recent awards luncheon at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Stockton, four Calaveras County organizations received a total of $22,000 from the 2010 Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) Community Grant Program. The awards were presented by Feliciano Jiron, President and CEO of Mark Twain St. Josephs Hospital, Larry Cornish, V.P, Facilities and Project Development, and Lew Steele, Vice Chair of the Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Healthcare Corporation Board of Trustees. The awardees included the Calaveras Children’s Dental Project, the Calaveras Senior Center, the Resource Connection Early Childhood Programs and the Resource Connection Food Bank to support their community projects. Each year Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital and Catholic Healthcare West seek to partner with Calaveras County nonprofit organizations who are working to improve the health status and quality of life of the local communities....
