Sierra Nevada Conservancy Updates Their Forest Health Report...In Their Opinion "From Bad To Worse" |
Posted by: thepinetree on 03/07/2017 09:30 AM
|
Auburn, CA...From the SNC "When the first State of the Sierra Nevada’s Forests report was released in 2014, conditions in the Sierra Nevada appeared to be at their worst. The Region had just experienced its largest fire in recorded history, the 2013 Rim Fire, and the trend toward larger, more severe wildfires in Sierra Forests was already clear. Restoration efforts in the Sierra were grossly out of pace with what was needed, and overgrown forests were starting to show signs of stress from only two years of drought. When the 2014 report was released, tree mortality wasn’t even mentioned.

Week One Op-Ed By Former Calaveras County Supervisor Tom Tryon On The "War On Drugs" |
Posted by: thepinetree on 03/06/2017 11:26 AM
|
Angels Camp, CA....After being elected to the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors I assumed office in January of 1985. A recall effort was initiated against me in the summer of 1985. The recall effort was launched due to my opposition to the “War on Drugs”, most particularly Marijuana. The issues of the summer of 1985 are the same issues we are discussing today concerning the legalization of Cannabis and Measure B on the special election ballot. I urge the good citizens of Calaveras County to vote NO on Measure B. I would also encourage the Board of Supervisors to adopt a permanent ordinance for cannabis legalization which addresses and corrects the valid complaints concerning the emergency ordinance. There will be a five to six week printing of documents concerning the issues involved in the recall effort of 1985.

Posted by: thepinetree on 03/06/2017 03:55 PM
|
Washington, DC...House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) issued the following statement on introduction of the American Health Care Act: “Obamacare is rapidly collapsing. Skyrocketing premiums, soaring deductibles, and dwindling choices are not what the people were promised seven years ago. It’s time to turn a page and rescue our health care system from this disastrous law. The American Health Care Act is a plan to drive down costs, encourage competition, and give every American access to quality, affordable health insurance. It protects young adults, patients with pre-existing conditions, and provides a stable transition so that no one has the rug pulled out from under them.
