Amazed, Inspired and Grateful Doesn’t Begin to Say It. ~ By Ron Fillmore

Posted by: News_Desk on 08/15/2017 09:23 PM
Murphys, CA...On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Murphys Old Timers Museum, I would like to thank everyone who supported “The Concert of the Summer” held at Brice Station on July 16th. The event was a huge success with all proceeds going directly to our community museum. I especially want to thank our sponsors the Mast and Quyle families for sharing their beautiful venue and staff along with the many individuals and businesses who sold concert tickets including Sustenance Books and Next! Upscale Resale. Appreciation also goes to the Rugo family who donated their own ranch-raised beef, Clamper Floyd Berry who handled the grill and our incredible volunteers who planned and organized everything from the menu to the silent auction to clean up.

Kayak Raffle for COTA in Honor of Baby Jace

Posted by: thepinetree on 08/13/2017 10:07 AM
San Luis Obispo, CA...My name is Jace and I want to tell you my story. I was born March 2017 in San Luis Obispo County, California to the best parents ever, Andrew and Rebecca. Since coming home from the hospital after being born, I was giving my parents something to worry about because I had blood in my stool. At first my pediatrician though it was a food allergy so my mom had to alter her diet so much that she only ate chicken and rice. Unfortunately, it did not help so my pediatrician recommended that I see a pediatric GI specialist. The GI specialist saw me and ordered some routine blood work. Later that night, my parents received a phone call and the doctor suggested I go to Twin Cities ER to get my blood work redrawn because I had dangerously low platelet levels. The ER processed my blood and again my platelets were very low so they recommended that we drive to Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera that night. My parents and I stayed there for two weeks and after many blood tests, upper and lower GI scope with biopsies, and a bone marrow biopsy, I was transferred via ambulance to Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford. After almost another week, the final test my team of doctors sent off was a genetic test to Cincinnati, Ohio hoping for a conclusive result. After close to a month of genetic testing, it was undeniable…….I have WAS.

CCWD Awards Design Contract for Lake Tulloch-Area Sewer System Upgrades

Posted by: thepinetree on 08/11/2017 01:01 PM
Copperopolis, CA...At its August 9 meeting, the Calaveras County Water District Board of Directors unanimously approved a contract for design and engineering services to replace and upgrade sewer infrastructure in communities around Lake Tulloch in Copperopolis. “It’s great to see projects moving forward and being able to solve problems that could in time threaten the public’s water supply at Lake Tulloch as well as the safety of District employees responsible for maintaining obsolete facilities,” said Charles Palmer, District Engineer. “By grouping common projects together, as is the case here, the District is achieving significant cost savings and efficiencies.”

Sheriff's Department, County Counsel & Board of Supervisors Resolve Legal Interpretational Differences ~ Sheriff Rick DiBasilio

Posted by: thepinetree on 08/10/2017 11:29 AM
San Andreas, CA...To the Citizens of Calaveras County; I would like to address the issue recently in the press and community regarding the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office use of funds for the eradication of illegal commercial marijuana growing operations. This Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to following the law regarding the use of funds. We are aware of the concerns raised by the use of certain funds for eradication activities, and have been in useful negotiations to resolve differences in the interpretation of applicable law.

An Uncertain World & Lack of Tax Reforms Sends Dow Lower

Posted by: thepinetree on 08/10/2017 01:42 PM
New York, NY....The Dow Jones Average succumbed to increasing world uncertainty over North Korea and Wall Street unease on lack of progress on tax reforms. Wall St. is getting increasingly nervous as they had expected movement on corporate tax reforms as one of the initial goals of Trump's Presidency. The combined factors sent the Dow down 204.69 points to close at 21,844.01 for the day.

Mornings with the One Percent at Camp Connell General Store Hours Two & Three Up For Replay

Posted by: thepinetree on 08/09/2017 02:45 PM
Camp Connell, CA...We had the pleasure to push our little show from the historic Camp Connell General Store this morning. We spoke with Camp Connell General Store's Bryon Ross about the store and their upcoming Chains Required concert in their Beer Garden on Saturday. Since their opening in 1928 they have been a focal point in the Dorrington, Camp Connell & Upper Hwy 4 Communities. In the era of chain driven, cookie cutter retail, it is great to see a historic community market thriving and moving forward into the future. As we were there the regulars came in for their morning coffees and local's played their morning card game right behind us. Below is a replay of hours two & three of this morning's show. Hour Two is actually technically the cleanest.
