Angels Camp, CA... O.A.R.S. (Outdoor Adventure River Specialists) hosted a special V.I.P. private preview screening of the MacGillivray Freeman IMAX film Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk 3D presented by Teva® at the Esquire Theatre in Sacramento. The Media and family (Granger and Grayson), who gave this film a 4 thumbs up, were invited to join them for this special screening on Wednesday evening. The movie chronicles environmental heroes Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Wade Davis, along with their daughters, as they journey down the Colorado River to raise awareness about the world’s growing shortage of fresh water. Angels Camp, CA...Join CAMPS art Greenhorn Creek for a Special Champagne Brunch this Easter Sunday from 9am~2pm. They will also be having an Adult Egg Hunt at Greenhorn Creek Golf Resort from Thursday March 20th through Saturday March 22nd. The Adult Egg Hunt on the Golf Course includes fun prizes. Linden, CA….Last Friday 3/14/2008, Bret Harte Swim team faced off Calaveras Swim team at Linden High School. Bret Harte was defeated by Calaveras in both group’s boys and girls in the case of small numbers. Calaveras has 22 girls and 13 boys to Bret Harte's 25 total. They did their best for what they had. Angels Camp, CA....The 21st Annual La Contenta Pro-Am Golf Tournament benefiting the Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF) will be a Cinco de Mayo celebration this year. The always popular event, which features a prize purse of $4,000 for pro golfers and more than $2,000 for amateur players, will take place on Monday, May 5, at the Valley Springs golf course. "Building Year" for the Bret Harte Swim Team ~By Hanna Heath

San Andreas, CA…. It's been told that swimming is a wimpy sport, but I don't see it. They don't get timeouts in the middle of a race, they can't stop and catch their breath, they can't roll on their stomachs and lie there, and they can't ask for a substitution. It’s more of an endurance and mind focusing sport. For the past four in a half weeks the Bret Harte High School swim team has been practicing their endurance at The Right of Passage east of San Andreas. The construction of the swimming pool at Calaveras High has made it extremely difficult for Bret Harte to even have a team due to “NO” pool facilities…..

Angels Camp, CA...Last night, the Bret Harte Football team were presented with their well deserved awards at their Awards Dinner. Awards were given to the Forsh and JV team then the Varsity. Vern Johnson of the Media Department of Bret Harte made a Highlight Film/DVD that was played for the families, on the past football season. He did an excellent job on this. Each coach described highlights of each player speaking how each were a contributing factor to the team's success. Some of the individual stats and.....

Bear Valley, CA...Bear Valley Cross Country had another successful Annual Bjornloppet Race. This was the 35th running of this race in the Bear Valley Meadow. There were even two competitors over 80 years of age. Skiing truly is a lifetime sport. Bear Valley Cross Country had almost a hundred racers this weekend....
