New Melones Fishing Report for January 19th, 2009~By Glory Hole Sports |

Water Conditions: New Melones Lake is currently holding 1,152,655 acre-feet of water. Water level held steady this week, and is at 962 ft. above sea level and 126 ft. from full capacity. Water in the main lake is approximately 52-54 degrees. The lake has turned over. Water is slightly stained to clear in the main lake.....

Angels Camp, CA.....New basketball shoes $85, a basketball $25, making the winning shot ~Priceless. Thursday evening the seventh-grade boys basketball team at Mark Twain played against last years AMA champions, Jackson Elementary. The whole game was pretty much neck-to-neck until one player made the most important shot of the game. Twelve-year-old, Jaime Faull from Mark Twain made the winning shot with 1.8 seconds left in the game.....

Angels Camp, CA....Be sure to stop by ThePineTree.net on Friday Night "Live" for Bret Harte High School vs. Ripon Christian Basketball! We will start broadcasting at 7pm. You can also catch the replay up later. Update as of 7:40pm. The Varsity Game will get underway in a few minutes. We had an issue with a network connection tonight so we are videoing the game and we will have the game in it's entirety up later this evening. The JV Frogs won a hard fought overtime game 50-47 over Ripon Christian. The Varsity Frogs drop this game 59-47. We will have the full game replay up later. Bear Valley, CA...The Annual Bear Valley Slalom rolled into Bear Valley this last weekend. Young Ski Racers from Sierra Summit, Badger Pass, Dodge Ridge and Bear Valley spent two days going from gate to gate and run after run to decide the winners in the various classes of USSA Far West Skiing. The athletes ranged from as young as first graders to high school age...

Space Still Available in Cross-Country Ski Class |

Columbia, CA....Space is still available in the cross-country ski class offered by the Columbia College Community Education Program. Students will receive eight weeks of instruction and practice at Bear Valley Cross-Country, equipment rentals and bus transportation for the $250 course fee. A mandatory orientation session is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 15 at 6:00 p.m. on the college campus in the Manzanita 18-1 classroom....

Angels Camp, CA.....The annual John Provart Wrestling Tournament was held at Bret Harte over the weekend. The tournament was named after John Provart, former Superintendent and Principal at Bret Harte over 30 years ago. Six schools participated in the tournament which included Bret Harte, Los Banos, Sonora, Ponderosa, Mariposa, and Sierra Ridge.........
