Tuolumne, CA...Bret Harte traveled to Tuolumne to take on the Summerville Bears on the first night of Mother Lode League play this year. Inspite of some great play they came up a bit short in the end. We would like to thank Jeff Rasmussen for sending us some great highlight shots of both the Varsity and JV Games on Friday Night...

Calaveras County, CA...The local football teams open up league play tonight in their battle for Mother Lode League Glory. The Calaveras Redskins open on the road at Amador and Bret Harte is on the road at Summerville. It starts for real tonight! Good luck teams...

San Andreas, CA....Six weeks into the season and the Calaveras Jr. Redskins commanded the scoreboard once again. This week’s games were played on the Calaveras High School football field and every Calaveras team went home victorious. VARSITY: For the third week in a row, the Jr. Redskins Varsity team shutout their opponent. This time the final score was Jr. Reds 16, Sonora Jr. Cats 0. The Jr. Redskin Varsity team is now officially in the playoffs and has earned a first-round bye....

Escalon, CA...The Bullfrogs leapt into action on the road in Escalon on Friday Night. Unfortunately they won a few battles but ultimately lost the wars in both the Varsity and JV contests. We would like to thank Jeff Rasmussen for sending us battle shots again this week!!
Ripon, CA...Calaveras was up 10- 0 at the half only to see Ripon score 14 in the second. The skins fought valiantly but ended up riding the bus home still down 4 points. We would like thank Diane Fischer again this week for sending us shot of the action. Friday Night Football Scores... Tough Night for Local Teams

Ripon, CA...The first scores are starting to come in. Calaveras is up 10-0 at the half. Unfortunately they ended up on the short end of the score, Ripon 14, Calaveras 10. Bret Harte had a tough time getting any started against Escalon and ended up dropping the game Escalon 43, Bret Harte 0. Other area scores... Summerville 34, Mariposa County 6, Modesto Christian 54, Amador 14, Hilmar 20, Argonaut 14. Sonora continued their roll with a win last night as well, Sonora 35, Central Valley 12
