Bear Valley, CA...Join John and Kim "live" from Bear Valley this weekend, January 10-11th at 10am for the Bear Valley Central Series Slalom Race. Bear Valley will play host to other Central Series Race Teams such as Dodge Ridge, Sierra Summit and Badger Pass. Now is your chance to watch these talented young athletes in action! We will see you on the slopes!

Saturday Update....The First Run of the J5/J6 Girls and Boys have run and they are now resetting the course for the J4 Boys. Racing should start again soon.
Morning Racing has finished and the afternoon session should start about 1:30pm

Joe Bruce and John Chiarpotti with some nice New Year's Day bass caught on swimbaits and Clayton Nolan of Concord with a pretty brown trout that he caught (and released) while bank fishing.

Bear Valley, CA....Come join Aaron Johnson with Mountain Adventure Seminars (MAS) at the Bear Valley Lodge this Tuesday evening for an exciting and educational multi-media presentation about the awesome phenomenon of snow avalanches. This two hour lecture begins at 6:30 PM and covers the classification, formation and factors leading to the creation of avalanches. Lecture price is $10.....

Bear Valley, CA...The local sports programs that have spawned Olympic, World Cup, X-Games, National Championship, Junior Olympic, National and International competitors are deep into their winter training camps as they tune up for the 2008/2009 season. The Bear Valley Race team already has a win and podium finishes in some of the early season races. Age ranges on these teams are from young first graders all the way to high school age. They are next generation competitors from skiing dynasties like the Rasmussen family and children of Olympic Gold Medalists in other sports mixed with the fresh dreams of many others striving to make their mark in the athletic world. The kids may be young but this is serious stuff...

Dont forget to buy your 2009 fishing licenses! Happy New Year! Water Conditions: New Melones Lake is currently holding 1,143,140 acre-feet of water. Water level rose slightly this week, and is at 961 ft. above sea level and 127 ft. from full capacity. Water in the main lake is approximately 52-54 degrees. The lake has turned over. Water is slightly stained to clear in the main lake.....

Water level rose slightly this week, and is at 960 ft. above sea level and 128 ft. from full capacity. Water in the main lake is approximately 59-61 degrees. The lake has turned over.
