Bear Valley, CA...Bear Valley Mountain Resort has something very special planned this May. They are hosting a Weekend Race, Snowboard and Freestyle Camp on May 10th-11th, 2008. There are three different camps to choose from, open to all ages with intermediate to advanced skill levels....

Bear Valley, CA....The Yosemite Ski team coach, Tom Medema, said “welcome to New Hampshire” in describing the cold and icy conditions on Saturday and Sunday March 15-16th. The Bear Valley Race team showed their technical talent however, by taking many of the podium spots and awards on both Saturday and Sunday. Some of the highlights: J4 Women: The Colonias Sisters: Kendal Colonias, 1st on Sunday and 2nd on Saturday. Jordan Colonias, 1st on Saturday and 2nd on Sunday. After 4 clean, fast runs, Jordyn was the 2nd Fastest Woman of the weekend, missing the Silver Ski Award by less than a second after 4 runs!!! WOW!.....

Bear Valley,CA....As we mentioned before, two young men from the Bear Valley Ski Team qualified for the Junior Olympics in Bogus Basin, ID., which were held last weekend. Friday was SG training day. This was the first opportunity Zac and Justice have had to ski a REAL Super G course......A few stats Course length was 1869 meters which is 6132 feet, yep that is well over 1 mile. Vertical drop was 374 meters or 1227 feet. Racers were reaching speeds of over 63 mph. The course had 4 jumps on it with the largest being in the bottom section of the course launching skiers 40+ feet down the hill even with a good pre-jump......

Bear Valley, CA...Bear Valley Mountain Resort will host their GS Race Finals this Saturday, March 29th. With new snow on the ground, they decided to postpone the race until March 29th! Got the need for speed? Here's you're last chance to test those times! This fun race is open to all ages and abilities. Angels Camp, CA…..Yesterday the top six boys on the Bret Harte Golf team, teed off against Argonaut at the beautiful 18 hole golf course at Greenhorn Creek in Angels Camp. Another victory for Bret Harte has made them the team to beat this season. Score records show that Bret Harte is 9-0….

Angels Camp, CA... O.A.R.S. (Outdoor Adventure River Specialists) hosted a special V.I.P. private preview screening of the MacGillivray Freeman IMAX film Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk 3D presented by Teva® at the Esquire Theatre in Sacramento. The Media and family (Granger and Grayson), who gave this film a 4 thumbs up, were invited to join them for this special screening on Wednesday evening. The movie chronicles environmental heroes Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Wade Davis, along with their daughters, as they journey down the Colorado River to raise awareness about the world’s growing shortage of fresh water.
