New Melones Lake Fishing Report for 5/12/08~From Glory Hole Sports

Angels Camp, CA....Water Conditions: New Melones Lake is currently holding 1,396,344 acre-feet of water. The lake water level dropped almost two feet last week and is at 991 ft. above sea level and 97 ft. from full capacity. Water in the main lake is approximately 68-70 degrees. All ramps are in the water. Angels Boat Ramp is the shallowest ramp......

New Melones Lake, CA....Here are the "Catches of the Week"....Bruce Barron of Sonora who went out with guide Bruce Hamby of Sierra Sportfishing. He caught a limit of kokanee weighing up to 2-pounds, 2-ounces, on an Uncle Larry's copper/blue/pink spinner behind a Vance's silver dodger trolled 55 feet deep in the main lake between Black Bart Cove and the spillway......

Angels Camp, CA....The Annual Angels Camp Triathlon, hosted by On Your Mark Events will be held this Saturday, May 10th. Check in and race day registration opens at 7am. Event start time is 8:30am. The athletes will be competing in a 1000 yard swim, 16 mile bike ride and a 4 mile run. The Triathlon will take place at New Melones Reservoir Glory Hole Entrance.....

Central Sierra/Hwy 4 Fishing Report for May 7th, 2008~By Bill Reynolds

Sierra stream fishing has been hit and miss at most locations. Access to the Stanislaus River was limited to Calaveras Big Trees State Park and Boards Crossing Road in Dorrington. The Gate to Beaver Creek through Sourgrass crossing is now open. NCPA anticipates having Spicer open by Memorial weekend, depending on the snowmelt and weather. For an update on the road to Spicer you can call 209-728-1387. Alpine still has quite a bit of snow around it. Hobart Creek is not open until JULY 1ST 2008!.....

This store is absolutely gorgeous, hard wood flooring and everything! It will without a doubt, be one of the retail anchors of downtown Murphys. Men, you will not have to sit on the benches anymore and eat ice cream while your lady shops at the Murphys boutiques.....SNAC has a large selection of clothing, shoes and gear just for you....

Local Business People Take the Afternoon to Work on Economic Development at Chamber Golf Tournament!

Angels Camp, CA...Over 70 local Business people met at Greenhorn Creek this afternoon for the Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Tournament. The is an annual event that takes place on the first Friday in May and is a fun tournament to play in and gives the entrants the opportunity to mix and mingle while they drive and putt. I bet several new business conquests were planned on the back nine alone. The major sponsors for this event were Black Oak Casino, Calaveras Lumber & Greenhorn Creek....
