Slopestyle...Bear Valley Style!~By Hanna Heath |

Bear Valley, CA…. Yesterday, Bear Valley Mountain Resort kicked off their first BV Sessions Slope Style Series event. The competition took place on the infamous beginner run Super Cub which is located on the far west side of the mountain near Kuala Chair. The park course included three table tops, two rails, one box, and ending the course was the park wall reaching ten feet in vertical height. Before the competition began fans and local spectators surrounded the course to support the brave participants....

Angels Camp, CA...The Bret Harte Boys Basketball teams swept Amador last night in Angels Camp. The Varsity Boys took their game 57-47. The Frosh & JV teams were victorious as well. We would like to thank Hanna Heath for stopping by and getting some very nice shots of the boys in action. Hanna's photos are below....

Bear Valley, CA...Get up and enjoy the fresh snow - Conditions are fantastic!! The current system will bring us snow for the next 2-3 days. Cooler temps will make way for some great powder riding! Remember to observe all posted warnings about the lower Mtn and please use caution as the avalanche risk will be moderate to high for the surrounding areas. Arnold, CA...Klines Fitness has another one of their great Wilderness Club Hikes planned for this Thursday, January 31st. It will be a Big Meadow Snow Shoe. It is about a 3 1/2 mile round trip. Level of Difficulty: Easy with short stretches of moderate climbing. Bring the following: Lunch, water, snowshoes & trekking poles, sunscreen, lots of water resistant layers of clothing & plastic bag or pad to sit on....

Bear Valley, CA...This January couldn't be better with 8ft so far this month! The current system has dropped about 27" of snow, blanketing the mountain in fresh powder! Bear Valley, CA...Bear Valley's J3s competed at the first Junior Olympic Qualifying race of the season on Jan 19-21 at Sugar Bowl. The field included 89 men and 72 ladies competing for points toward qualifying for this year's JOs in Bogus Basin, ID. The weekend started out with favorable weather but snow showers moved in by Monday making visibility and snow conditions a bit tough. Nonetheless our team put in a good performance on all three days....
