Initial Antelope Valley Earthquake Yesterday Raised to a 6.0! Now Up to 182 Aftershocks!

Antelope Valley, CA...The USGS has raised the initial quake to a 6.0 from 5.9 on the Richter Scale. In our office we have felt many of the now 182 aftershocks of over 2.5 on the scale in last 24 hrs. Thankfully no significant damage but there has been a whole lotta shakin goin on!

Cluster of Six Earthquakes Strike Our Area

Arnold, CA......As the USGS maps settle down it looks like there was a total of six earthquakes this afternoon. They Ranged from 5.9 to 3.6 on the Richter Scale.

NWS Issues Excessive Heat Watch for Friday Through Monday!

Arnold, CA....The latest, updated excessive heat watch from the National Weather Service in Sacramento. "Dangerously hot conditions may impact the Central Valley and surrounding foothills and mountains. Triple digit heat along with warm overnight lows are possible late this week and into early next week. The combination of the very hot afternoons and warm nights will result in a period of high to very high heat risk. Consequently, an Excessive Heat Watch is in effect Friday through Monday evening.

Fiddle Fire Held to 3 Acres after Briefly Threatening Fiddletown

Fiddletown, CA...From CAL FIRE AEU..."Fiddle Fire Update: Firefighters made tremendous progress on a roadside fire that had potential to threaten the community of Fiddletown. Crews stopped the forward progress of the fire, mitigated the structure threat and gained 25% containment. The fire was mapped at 3 acres. Evacuation warning has been lifted. Fiddletown Road is closed near Amoruso Way.

Amador COVID-19 Update

Amador County, CA... Amador County Public Health reports 13 more cases of COVID-19 since last Tuesday’s update, bringing the total laboratory confirmed case count to 1,851. The new cases include 8 males and 5 females, 1 child under the age of 18, 1 aged 18-49, 2 aged 50-64, 9 age 65 and above; 4 living in Plymouth/surrounding areas, 5 in Pioneer, 2 living in Pine Grove, and 2 residing in Sutter Creek/Amador City. Of those, 1 Amador resident required hospitalization.
