Three Fatalities in Amador County Crash When Stockton Man Tried to Evade Officers |

Jackson, CA...On 06-13-2021, at approximately 1954 hours, Amador Area Officer Dave Ward, ID 16661, was driving a fully marked Chevrolet Tahoe patrol vehicle, and was stopped on the north side of SR-88, east of Eggiman Lane, in unincorporated Amador County. Officer Ward observed the suspect vehicle traveling westbound on SR-88, east of his location at a high rate of speed, verified at 107 MPH via radar. As the suspect vehicle approached his location, Officer Ward activated the patrol vehicle’s light bar. The suspect slowed as he passed; however, when Officer Ward entered SR-88 behind the suspect vehicle the suspect accelerated away. Officer Ward broadcast a failure to yield and approximately 22 seconds later, the suspect attempted to pass westbound traffic and struck a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction.

Traffic Update....Caltrans to Begin Roundabout on State Route 88 and Liberty Road |

Clements, CA...The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will begin to build a roundabout at a rural intersection in San Joaquin County to enhance the safety of motorists traveling east of Clements near the Camanche Reservoir. Work at the intersection of State Route (SR) 88 and Liberty Road is scheduled to begin Tuesday, June 15 and will continue into fall 2021.

Puppies Reunited with Their Mother in Pine Grove |

Pine Grove, CA...On June 4, 2021, at approximately 1040 hours, Amador County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a residence in the 14000 block of Spurlock Lane in Pine Grove to assist Amador County Animal Control Officers with seizing two dogs that appeared to have been abandoned at the residence. Animal Control had attempted contact with the resident on numerous occasions but received no response. Both dogs were in emaciated condition and in need of immediate food and water. Both dogs were subsequently seized by Animal Control, during which one of the dogs was determined to be a female who had recently given birth to puppies and who was still nursing. No puppies were found outside the residence, so it was believed the puppies were still inside the house.
