DAVIS, Calif. —The National Forest Foundation (NFF) and U.S. Forest Service Pacific Southwest Region (USFS) have announced the recipients of $113,000 in grants to improve landscape conditions, forest health and water quality in California. The Community Capacity and Land Stewardship grant program helps forest collaboratives and community-based organizations reach agreement on landscape scale restoration and create forest-based jobs..

Jackson, CA...Tow tow trucks are on scene of an accident that was blocking lanes on Hwy 88 and Monument. In Tuolumne there is a disabled vehicle on Hwy 49 and Schilling. Calaveras is calm right not. Lets be careful out there...

Angels Camp, CA...This week was a winless one so far with one game left to play as Amador plays Galt tonight. The Calaveras Redskins had a long bus ride home from Modesto Christian on the losing end of a 51-15 game. The Argonaut Mustangs had a similar bus ride home from River City with a 20 point deficit in the 41-21 game. The Linden Lions football team came up short in the battle of farming towns at Escalon by a score of 56-12. The Summerville Bears football team came away just a TD short in a shootout at Bradshaw Christian by a score of 49-42. The Bret Harte Bullfrogs football team dropped their home game against Drake by a score of 27-17. In non-MLL action the Sonora Wildcats lost Friday's away game against Paradise 28-13...

Amador County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the #1 (left) lane on State Route 88 (SR-88) from Jackson Creek Overflow to SR-124 just past Martin Lane for roadway excavation. Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 16, 2013, through Saturday, September 20, 2013, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Motorists should expect 20 minute delays.
