Iryna Elisabeth Maybrook 4/13/1931 – 6/23/2015 |

Plymouth, CA...Iryna passed away peacefully at Mark Twain Convalescent Hospital after surviving a serious stroke in 2012 that left her paralyzed but never broke her loving spirit. She was born Irma Elisabeth Baumler in Bamburg, Germany on April 13, 1931 and grew up in Bad Staffelstein, Germany. After serving as governess to a diplomat’s children in London and Beirut, she immigrated to the United States at age 27 and moved to Chicago, IL, where she married Billie Johnson in 1960. She and Billie had four children and were blessed with two granddaughters. She was incredibly devoted to her family as well as her friends and community. In later years she worked happily doing the Lord’s work at Moriah Heights, where she served as Treasurer for the Hope Foundation until 2007. In 1998, Billie passed away, and in 1999 she remarried widower Mike Maybrook, with whom she shared a loving life until Mike’s death in 2007... |

State Route 49/88 Sutter Street Signal Construction |

Jackson, CA...The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and the City of Jackson are partnering on a project to realign the two intersections where State Route 49/88 (SR-49/88) meets Sutter Street, while also installing traffic signals at the new intersection. The safety project is scheduled to begin in August 2015, with completion expected in November 2015. Crews will primarily work Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and drivers should expect 5-minute delays. No work is scheduled to be performed on weekends or holidays.

Mokelumne Wild & Scenic River Study Bill Passes Assembly |

Sacramento, CA...River advocates are pleased that the California State Assembly passed legislation on Monday, June 1, calling for a study of Mokelumne River as a state-protected Wild & Scenic River. AB 142, introduced by Assemblyman Frank Bigelow (R-O'Neals), was approved by the Assembly with a resoundingly bipartisan 71-3 vote. The bill will provide interim protection of the Mokelumne River upstream of Pardee Reservoir while also requiring a study of the river's suitability for permanent protection as a California
