Mark Twain Medical Center Announces 17th Annual Fall Health Fair |

San Andreas, CA...September 1, 2015- Mark Twain Medical Center (MTMC) will be holding its 17th Annual Fall Health Fair on Saturday, September 26th from 7am to noon on the Hospital Campus in San Andreas. “Hosting our community health fairs allows us to express our gratitude to those that entrust us with their health care needs,” said Craig Marks, Hospital President. “Our health fairs benefit individuals that are underserved or working towards maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Our providers and staff are here to share preventative care and health maintenance tips. Providing affordable health care services is one way we serve our community. This is a joint effort with many other entities working together, especially the Health Care District that helps fund this initiative, to ensure that Calaveras County residents can thrive in a healthy community.”

Paving On hwy 88 From Amador/Alpine County Line To Red Lake Road |

Alpine County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform one-way traffic control on State Route 88 from the Amador/Alpine County line to Red Lake Road for paving. Work will begin Monday, August 17, 2015, through Friday, August 21, 2015, from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Motorists should expect 20 minute delays and seek alternate routes.

(Now Open) CHP Amador Announces Hwy 88 To Reopen Before Wednesday Morning Commute |

Pioneer, CA...SR 88 is scheduled to be reopened before the morning commute on Wednesday, August 12th. It has been closed since last Wednesday night, August 5th, due to a collision involving a tractor trailer combination carrying gasoline and spilling approximately 1600 Gallons onto the roadway and dirt shoulder.

Jackson, CA...Jackson Fire Department along with Jackson Police, CHP and the Calaveras County bomb squad are on scene of a suspicious package underneath the Jackson City Hall. City Hall, the police station and Bank of America have been evacuated and Highway 88 and surrounding streets will be shut down in the immediate area while the incident is mitigated...
