13,495 Local PG&E Customers in the Dark to Start Tues Morning

Arnold, CA...By our rough calculations there are 13,495 customers in Amador, Calaveras, Alpine, Tuolumne & Northern Mariposa Counties waking up feeling a bit powerless on this stormy morning. The Hwy 88, 108 & 120 Corridors are bearing the brunt right now with a good sized chunk in the Mokelumne Hill, West Point & Mountain Ranch areas as well. Stay safe & bundle up out there...
Arnold, CA....Chain Controls are in Effect on our local Hwys. From north to south...Hwy 88 is closed at Carson Spur West of Kirkwood for Avalanche Control. On Hwy 4 you will need to chain up or engage the 4wd from Arnold on up. On Hwy 108 traction aids will be needed from Twain Harte on up. West Point, CA...The local power grid seems to be holding up fairly well as we start Monday. There area 216 PG&E customers without power in the West Point area and several additional isolated outages of single homes or small areas.
Winter Storm Warning & .Hazardous Mountain Travel Continues Through Tuesday

Arnold, CA...Additional winter storms will bring periods of dangerous mountain travel from heavy snow and gusty wind through Tuesday. White out conditions are possible along with chain controls, long travel delays, and even road closures. Travel into the high country is strongly discouraged through early next week. Snow levels are expected to lower to 3500 to 5000 feet today impacting the Coastal Range, as well as the Sierra Nevada. A colder storm arrives Monday and Tuesday brining heavy mountain snow and strong winds to the higher elevations. Significant snow possible in the foothills Monday into Tuesday.
