Amador County Health Officer Issues Orders on Use of Lodging Facilities and Non-Test Based Surveillance

Amador County, CA – With increasing cases statewide of novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) Amador County Health Officer Dr. Rita Kerr has issued additional orders for Amador County. These orders serve to enhance measures already being taken to slow the spread and preserve critical health care capacity. “Our top priority is the health and safety of our community and we are reminding everyone of the importance of the Stay at Home Order,” says Dr. Rita Kerr, Amador County Health Officer. “Our residents, health care providers, employers, and lodging facilities all serve an important role in our local COVID-19 mitigation and response.”

California State Parks Block Vehicle Access to Additional Parks to Slow Spread of COVID-19

Sacramento, CA... California State Parks announced it is temporarily closing vehicle access to 59 additional state parks and beaches to avoid dangerous visitation surges and help prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). This brings the total number of state-operated parks and beaches closed to vehicle access to 98. A list of closures can be found online at www.parks.ca.gov/FlattenTheCurve.

At lower elevations, a chance of rain showers in the morning, then rain showers in the afternoon. At higher elevations, a chance of rain and snow showers in the morning, then rain and snow showers likely in the afternoon. Highs 31 to 46 higher elevations...44 to 52 lower elevations. No snow accumulation lower elevations...up to 2 inches higher elevations. Snow level 6000 feet. Prevailing southwest winds up to 15 mph. Gusts up to 30 mph in the afternoon. Tonight Mostly cloudy. At lower elevations, rain showers likely in the evening, then a chance of rain and snow showers after midnight. At higher elevations, rain and snow showers likely in the evening, then a chance of snow showers after midnight. Lows 19 to 33 higher elevations...31 to 39 lower elevations. Little or no snow accumulation lower elevations...up to 3 inches higher elevations. Snow level 6000 feet decreasing to 5000 feet after midnight. Prevailing south winds 5 to 15 mph with gusts to around 35 mph.

AWA’S Water Supply is Safe from Coronavirus Covid-19

Amador Water Agency (AWA) wants to emphasize that our drinking water is not impacted by the Coronavirus (COVID-19). According to the State Water Board, Environmental Protection Agency and Center for Disease Control, conventional water treatment methods that use filtration and disinfection, such as those in AWA drinking water systems, remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends that Americans continue to use and drink tap water as usual.
