Arnold, CA...Detailed forecast for West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada. Today Mostly sunny. Windy. Highs 26 to 41 higher elevations... 43 to 51 lower elevations. Prevailing northeast winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts to around 70 mph. Over ridges, prevailing northeast winds 25 to 45 mph with local gusts to around 60 mph increasing to 35 to 55 mph with local gusts to around 75 mph in the afternoon. Tonight Clear, breezy. Lows 17 to 32 higher elevations...32 to 40 lower elevations. Prevailing northeast winds 10 to 25 mph with gusts to around 60 mph. Over ridges, prevailing northeast winds 35 to 50 mph with local gusts to around 70 mph decreasing to 25 to 40 mph with local gusts to around 55 mph after midnight.

Pioneer, CA...From the Amador Sheriff's Dept..."On January 23, 2020, ACCNET agents acted on an anonymous tip and served a search warrant at two different residences in Pioneer. With the information provided and evidence found on scene, two felony arrests were made for narcotic related offenses and child endangerment. Thanks again to the citizens of Amador County for continuing to report suspicious activity."

Raised beds allow you to grow in areas with poor soils or in a variety of containers. Square foot gardens show what you can grow in a single square foot. Gardening in straw bales will give you a built-in medium that can be located and relocated from year to year anywhere you have a sunny location. Master Gardeners will share the pros and cons of these small space gardening solutions. Handouts will be provided. This class is free and open to the public.
