Amador County, CA – Amador County Public Health confirms an additional thirteen COVID-19 cases and another death due to COVID-19 since Tuesday’s COVID-19 update. The individual who passed was a resident of Jackson, in their 70s and had underlying conditions placing them at higher risk for COVID-19 complications.

Arnold, CA...The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued an Excessive Heat Warning starting today and extending through at least Wednesday of next week. Please take care to stay hydrated and safe and to all of our new part and full time residents. The real ugly and dangerous portion of our fire season is now through October and even into November or until we get our first soaking rain. Remember the horrific Paradise Fire? The season ending wetting rain came only three days after that fire destroyed the town and took so many lives. All of our lives can change in an instant so please be careful. Sometimes we all hear fire safety and tune it out. Please don't as the next three months are critical especially this year as thanks COVID-19 as we are thankful we have thousands of new people here as it helps our economy and please help us get through this fire season campaign fire free. All the scorching weather details are below...

Record Number of Illegal Campfires Occurring Despite Fire Restrictions |

Placerville, CA...Fire and law enforcement officers had another busy weekend contacting a record numbers of visitors about campfires they had made that are not allowed under the current fire restrictions in the Eldorado National Forest. “We are really excited to have so many new people visiting the forest for the first time,” said Forest Supervisor Jeff Marsolais. “Now more than ever, being outdoors is playing an important role in our lives. Our national forests are open and we want to welcome everyone to come out and enjoy them. But right now, traditional campfires are too much of a risk, given the weather conditions in California.”

Seven Deaths & 31 New COVID-19 Cases in Amador County Since Friday |

Amador County, CA – Amador County Public Health confirms another seven deaths due to COVID-19 and 31 additional cases in Amador since Friday’s COVID-19 update. The individuals who passed were residents of Jackson and Pine Grove, in their 60s, 80s, and 90s and each had underlying conditions placing them at higher risk for COVID-19 complications. Today during the Amador County Board of Supervisors meeting a moment of silence was observed to honor the memory of the first community members to die from COVID-19 complications.
