UC Cooperative Extension Hosts Cottage Food Operations Workshop |

Jackson, Ca...University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) will present a hands-on workshop series at six locations across Northern California designed especially for farmers interested in making value-added products in their home kitchens. Workshops will teach participants about the new California Homemade Food Act (AB1616) which allows individuals to prepare and package certain non-potentially hazardous foods in private-home kitchens referred to as “Cottage Food Operations” (CFOs)...

Amador County, Ca...The Jackson Police Department is gearing up for the return of our countywide Jackson Police Activities League Summer Baseball Program, Junior Giants. The program is an official departmental program of the Jackson Police Department organized by the Jackson Police Activities League Program (JPAL). JPAL Baseball is open to boys and girls between the ages of five and eighteen. There are no sign-up fees and no insurance or equipment cost for players. This is a non-competitive league where all kids play and scores are not kept... |

Jackson, CA....Crews are working an injury accident were a motorcycle has gone down on Hwy 49 near Electra Road and now two injured parties are being helped. The accident is off the roadway but please be careful for emergency and other vehicles parked in the area....

Sheriff's Office Scales Back Search For Missing Amador County Man |

Nixon, NV... The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Unit announced this morning that they are scaling back efforts to locate a missing 79-year-old California man in the Coyote Canyon area northeast of Nixon, Nevada where the missing man’s car was found last weekend. An average of 40 to 45 personnel from Washoe County and a number of other northern Nevada law enforcement agencies have been actively searching a 400-square mile area of remote and rugged terrain since Monday morning but have not yet been able to locate Warren Alford Hagyard of Pioneer, California.... |

Amador and Calaveras County —The Arc of Amador and Calaveras will be hosting the 26th annual welcoming and friendship picnic for the inspiring Journey of Hope cyclists. The Journey of Hope is a program of Push America, the national philanthropy of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, which raises money and awareness for people with disabilities. The Journey of Hope teams consists of men from Pi Kappa Phi chapters across the country. The teams cycle an average of 75 miles per day, beginning in San Francisco and ending in Washington, D.C....

Angels Camp, CA...The Bret Harte Boys capped off a perfect 16-0 Season on Friday with a Mother Lode League Varsity Championship on their home water. It was the best results in the team's 14 year history. The Lady Frogs hopped into second and Calaveras Boys were Third and the Girls were fourth.
