Posted by: Kim_Hamilton on 05/25/2010 03:38 PM
In the fast and frenzied world of political correctness some of our country’s more traditional holidays seem to have become glossed over with the simple promise and expectation of a paid day off, block parties, and fun in the sun. Sometimes the true meaning of the holiday itself seems to get lost amid all the activity. Out here in the country we have not forgotten what Memorial Day stands for. It’s not just another paid holiday, another day to bar-b-que, and play in the sun. It’s a day to remember.....

Impromptu Car Show in Copperopolis~by Charity Maness

Posted by: thepinetree on 05/22/2010 09:15 PM
Copperopolis was privy to a wonderful impromtu car show Saturday afternoon as a collection of antique and collector cars stopped at Town Square for a quick ice cream at Cruiser’s for some, coffee at Snap’s for those driving convertibles. What started out, ten years ago, as a few friends that loved to drive the country roads in their beautiful cars has become an annual event that seems to have gathered quite a following. The eclectic collection of new and old, sport and family use autos mirrored the diverse personalities of the drivers. The similarity among them all…love of cars and the open road. One gentleman proudly wore a sweatshirt emblazoned with the saying “I play with cars.” It doesn’t get any clearer than that....

Majors at Black Creek Today!~by Charity Maness

Posted by: Kim_Hamilton on 05/17/2010 11:34 PM
Copperopolis, CA....It was the Yankees vs the White Sox Today at Blackcreek Park, the Score…16/2. The Calaveras American Little League Yankees and the White Sox took the field today in high spirits after a weekend of frog jump fun. The Yankees from Angels Camp sponsored by Teichert Construction with a 1/6 record came ready to play. The White Sox from Angels Camp and Copperopolis sponsored by Jackson Insurance with a 4/4 record showed spirit. The pitching was fast and furious while the batter’s showed a sharp eye for just the right pitch. Outfield was kept busy with some fly balls, while the infield ran for plenty of grounders....

Pitcher Levi Rollings for the White Sox. What an arm!
