Sacramento, CA...A closed low offshore pressure system off of the Central California Coast will gradually move towards the coast and inland over Northern California through Thursday. This system will bring the threat of thunderstorms continuing through at least Wednesday. The most abundant lightning is expected over the mountain and foothills but potential for thunderstorms extends into the valley. Some of the thunderstorms may bring abundant lightning and gusty winds which could produce fire starts....
Fire Update...Vegetation Fire Off of Hwy 4 East of Milton Road

Milton, CA....There is a new vegetation fire being reported off of Hwy 4 east of Milton Road. More to follow but please use caution when driving in the area... Update as of 5:20pm..It looks like they will get this one knocked down quickly. Lets hope it stays down. Fire is this area can sometimes grow rapidly in the dry summer grasses...
Vallecito, CA...The Calaveras County Taxpayers Association continues it's march on. Since its founding well before the Tea Party movement had even been thought of and continuing now with a Taxpayer Alert TV Program. Al Segalla and his merry band of tax vigilantes are present at seemingly every public meeting making sure the Constitution, Private Property Rights and Libertarian views are not swept under the rug of public process. San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce and the Calaveras Historical Society will host California State Assemblyman Frank Bigelow with an informal reception on Friday, August 23rd from 12 noon to 1:30. The reception is open to the public and will be held in the Historic County Museum located at 30 North Main Street in San Andreas...
Update on Recreational Health and Water Quality in Lake Tulloch

San Andreas, CA...August 8, 2013; Concerns associated with sewage effluent (waste water) being discharged into Lake Tulloch from a compromised sewage lateral occurring at 7430 O’Byrnes Ferry Road in Copperopolis, was initially reported to several agencies, including the State Water Resources Control Board, on July 17, 2013. As a result, County Code Compliance performed an inspection at the reported site of waste water discharge on July 18, 2013 and the Environmental Health Department performed an inspection on July 19, 2013. No waste water discharge was visibly identified on either visit....
Copperopolis, CA...Crews are working hay from a truck that is on fire on Hwy 4 near Horseshoe. CHP is reporting a man throwing burning bales into the roadway so they do not catch vegetation along the roadway on fire. More to follow.... Update the fire is on Horseshoe south of Hwy 4 and does not appear to be affecting traffic on Hwy 4...
