Starting things off there is a closed session at 8am to discuss appointing a new planning director. Details and the compete agenda is enclosed. Public Employee Appointment - Planning Director; Human Resources – Board action: Airfield lighting and electrical improvements and pavement rehabilitation. Fire Report...Lawnmower Sparks Blaze in Copperopolis

Copperopolis, CA....At 3:24pm on Friday afternoon the call came in for a vegetation fire on Quail Hill Road. A full wildland response ensued with ground air units heading to the scene. Crews were able to keep the fire to 1 1/2 acres of grass and quickly dosed the fire. One civilian became ill from dehydration. Additional details enclosed...

Fire Update...Quick Work Made of Copperopolis Fire

Copperopolis, CA...Firefighters and bombers extinguished a grass fire in less than ten minutes . The fire was near Little John Road and Bow Drive. The picture below was taken from Arrowhead drive at 3:45 this afternoon. We just checked with the TCU Command in San Andreas and the fire was kept to less than an acre..

Traffic Update...Overturned Vehicle on Hwy 4

Copperopolis, CA...Crews are working an overturned vehicle accident on Hwy 4 west of Copperopolis. A van has overturned off the the roadway but traffic will be affected by debris and emergency vehicles. Those on scene are checking for injuries at this time... Update as of 12:55pm..this will be a non-injury accident but traffic will be slowed until the incident is cleared..

San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras county Humane Society and Calaveras County Animal services are offering special pricing for all kitties who are at least 75% black, includes black cats, torties, tuxedos, etc… through the whole month of September! Cats are $20 at Animal Services and $25 through CHS. Let’s get these sweet kitties into good homes!

Sasha, Dawn & More Awaiting You at the Shelter

San Andreas, CA...Following are just two of the great dogs available at the shelter. Sasha is an Akita who is about 3 years old. She has a tri-color coat with a magnificent tail that curls around on itself. She will need to be spayed before going to her new home. Dawn is a lab mix about 2 years old. Dawn is looking for an active family or person who has time for training and activities that will include her. Dawn will need to be spayed before going home with you.
