Copperopolis, CA....Crews are responding to a reported vehicle accident on O'Byrnes Ferry Road on Copperopolis. Unknown if there are any injuries. Update 11:45pm: Crews cannot locate an accident as of yet.Update 11:51pm: Vehicle Accident is on the Tuolumne County side. Update 11:55pm: Two vehicles involved, no injuries. Tow truck on scene. Please travel with caution in the area.

San Andreas, CA...After decades of need the new Adult Detention Facility is officially underway. The Calaveras Board of Supervisors and the Sheriff's Office thanked the Citizens who voted to support Measure J and the State of California for the AB900 funds which are making the new Jail a reality. The voters passed the bond measure in 2007 with 67.2% percent of the vote....

It's Time for CHiPs for Kids....Toys Will be Collected Monday, December 20th

San Andreas, CA....The California Highway Patrol is once again partnering with the Calaveras County Santa’s Express Program for the 12th Annual CHiPs for Kids Toy Drive. This is a wonderful opportunity for schoolchildren and members of the community to collect and donate new, unwrapped toys for hospitalized and disadvantaged children. The collected toys will then be delivered to the Santa’s Express Program. Collection barrels are at the following locations...
