San Andreas, CA...~Santa’s Express~Toys for Tots TOY DRIVE. WHEN: Saturdays, December 3rd and 10th. WHERE: FIRE STATIONS THROUGHOUT CALAVERAS COUNTY. TIME: 10:00 am and 4:00 pm Drop off an unwrapped toy for ages 0 -11 to any Calaveras Fire Station on December 3rd and 10th! These toys will be distributed at the Christmas Santa’s Express Distribution. The Marine Corps Toys for Tots has partnered with Santa’s Express and our Fire Departments this year. All toys collected will stay in Calaveras County. We sincerely thank you for helping families in our community who are in need!

| San Andreas, CA...The advocates of recalling District 5 Supervisor Darren Spellman fell a few hundred votes short. They came in over 300 signatures short of forcing a recall election. They needed to get 1,702 signatures and ended up with under 1,350.... |

Our weather page now reflects what they have found is the most accurate location for Bear Valley Weather. We have also added a permanent Copperopolis weather snapshot block as well. What follows is the forecast for the Bear Valley area for the week. As the weather changes our areas entertainment focus heads towards the high country...

Injured Firefighter Condition Still Listed as Serious |

Copperopolis, CA...Two days after a structure fire sent a firefighter to the hospital, the injured CAL FIRE Captain remains in serious condition at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto. Fire Captain Sue Arrouzet, 45 of Tracy, has been with CAL FIRE for 22 years and is currently assigned to the CAL FIRE Copperopolis Fire Station. Captain Arrouzet remains in good spirits surrounded by family and co-workers and will likely be transferred to a San Francisco hospital for recovery....
