Copperopolis, CA....Update 5/1/11: Mark Twain student, Michael Legge is on his way to the State Science Fair! Thanks to you, our viewers, he was able to help make his goal!.....Local 8th grader, Michael Legge is headed to the State Science Fair! Michael won 1st place at the Calaveras County Science Fair in his division with his project "Mysterious Bacteria vs. Evil Tobacco." Michael is a student at Mark Twain Elementary and needs our help! Here is a letter from Michael: "Hello my name is Michael Legge and I am an 8th grade student at Mark Twain Elementary School. Mark Twain doesn't require students to do science fair projects but I went out and did one on my own. .....

Copperopolis, CA......"Discussion in Copper centered predominantly around FEMA flood mapping issues and time frames for repair of O'Byrns Ferry bridge. There was discussion about the Copper library and an update on possibilities that exist for what appears to be a financial squeeze in the works. A few questions about the possibility of new development starting again in Copper was also a topic of discussion as there has been a small amount of surveying and talk of home building starts next year this time if the economy picks up......

This is the time of the year when the foothills benefit from all the rain we have gotten this winter and the hillsides are covered with green grasses with a carpet of colorful wild flowers. It’s a photo op for anyone when the waterfalls run streaming down the hillsides. Of course there are those that suffer from allergies and pop Claritin like M&Ms . . . so there’s that side of it too.....

Copperopolis, CA....A dumpster fire is being reported at McCarty's Copper Inn...So if you see smoke and crews heading over, this is where they are going. Update 5:58pm: Fire contained to dumpster.

You stayed by our side as we struggled with the knowledge he wasn’t going to survive. You flew into action when you knew his final wish was to come home. You overcame obstacle after obstacle to grant his final wish, and you did…you got him home! You made his homecoming one never to be forgotten. Calaveras County, CA...Update 4/28/11: Michael has received some very generous donations from our viewers! The family is so thankful! "I am so excited for him, what a wonderful opportunity he has before him and with his drive to do the best he can, hopefully he will place during the state competition. He is going to go back to the IGA in Copperopolis again tomorrow with his project to answer questions and share what he has discovered.
