Copperopolis, CA...Copperopolis Town Square – the events, shopping and entertainment gathering place in Calaveras County – will host the third-annual “Art, Jazz & Wine on the Square” event on Saturday, June 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For the first time, wine will be made available to attendees as they peruse the work of local artists. Beautiful hand-crafted paintings, jewelry, woodwork and more will be available at the show. A raffle for select pieces of artwork, wine and other items is scheduled as well...

San Andreas, CA...For over two decades, Calaveras Arts Council has hosted free summer concerts. Music in the Parks 2013 will be another great music series. The first day of summer starts a week earlier in Calaveras County. On Wednesday, June 12, the Calaveras Arts Council begins its 22nd year of providing free music in the county parks from Copperopolis to Arnold, and Valley Springs to Rail Road Flat. This fun fill musical road show is called Music in the Parks. Residents and visitors pack up their favorite picnic treats, pull together their lawn chairs and blankets, and set out for ten weeks of great music, family friendly environments, and kick back to savor the experience....

Amador & Calaveras, CA...Starting 6/3 PG&E will be doing air patrols in all of Amador and Calaveras county. We are starting and will finish with Amador first then moving to Calaveras county by the end of the week. This should take us two weeks to complete. Be prepared to see a low flying helicopter over all of the power lines in the area...

Copperopolis, CA... CHP is indicating a head-on collision at Hwy 4 and Telegraph with possible injuries, 1 minor, 1 moderate. EMS is en-route. Please use caution in the area. Update - Collision is now being reported as being between Milton and Dunton Rds on Hwy 4. One ambulance en-route (4:58 pm) - Please use caution in the area.

| Copperopolis, CA...Nynette Michael’ Barnes passed away at UCD Medical Center in Sacramento on May 23, 2013. surrounded in prayer by her Loving family. At her side during her last rights and in her final hours were her parents Larry and Sherry Barnes, brother Mark with his wife and family,her best friend and love Mike Bledsoe and family, Uncle Barry , Aunt Gracie and cousins Erin and Cheryl. Grandma Virginia Jean Olmstead and Aunt Terrea Roberson also stopped in to pray and hold her hand. She is survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins in the Barnes and Roberson families, and friends that live in distant cities across the country. She has touched the hearts of so many in her travels through life and will be missed by them all.... |

San Andreas, CA...After conducting a thorough review of its revenue and expense requirements, the Calaveras County Water District is proposing a five-year water and wastewater rate change for all residential and commercial customers. The proposal will be considered by the District’s Board of Directors at a Public Hearing on July 10, 2013, and if approved, the rate change will be effective September 1, 2013....
