Angels Camp, CA...On November 20, 2014 at approximately 1615 hours, an 18 year old Copperopolis man was traveling eastbound on SR-4 east of Stallion Way at an unknown speed. Darby was traveling westbound on SR-4 east of Stallion Way at a stated speed of 40-45 MPH. For an unknown reason, the young Copperopolis man lost control of his vehicle. His Dodge Stratus rotated sideways into the oncoming lane of traffic, directly into the path of Darby's vehicle. The front of their Buick collided with the right side of the Dodge. Both vehicles came to rest blocking the westbound lane of SR-4.... |

Fatal Structure Fire In Copperopolis Tonight |

Copperopolis, CA....It has been a rough couple of days for the Copperopolis Community. Earlier tonight there was a structure fire where according to initial reports an elderly female did not make it out of a fully engulfed garage and dwelling. The fire was in the Copper Cove area on Pinion Street. We would like to thank Dick McCarty for the photos below. For all of us at ThePineTree.net our thoughts and prayers are with the families tonight... (Update...Because of the fatal nature of this fire the Calaveas County Sheriff's Dept is handling releasing additional information on this incident....

Calaveras, CA...When was the last time you lived (or stayed) in a house with just one bathroom? For us it was around 1999. We were living in what we affectionately called “the cave”, while Bill was building our new house in Arnold. Invariably whenever one of us had to “go”, it was like a cue for nature to call on the other one. Such is the life of living with only one bathroom in the family – even if there are only two of you. When our brand new house was finally done it had a heavenly 3-½ bathrooms for the two of us....

At higher elevations...scattered rain and snow showers in the morning...then numerous rain and snow showers in the afternoon. Highs 38 to 52 higher elevations...48 to 58 lower elevations. Little or no snow accumulation. Snow level 6000 feet. Prevailing south winds up to 15 mph...except southwest 20 to 30 mph over ridges. Tonight Mostly cloudy. At lower elevations...a chance of rain showers in the evening...then a slight chance of rain showers after midnight. At higher elevations...rain and snow showers likely in the evening...then a slight chance of rain and snow showers after midnight. Colder. Lows 26 to 40 higher elevations... 36 to 46 lower elevations. Little or no snow accumulation. Snow level 7500 feet. Prevailing south winds up to 10 mph.
