Copperopolis, CA....Crews are responding to a traffic accident at Hwy 4 and Hunt Road just east of Copperopolis. Update 7:07am: Vehicle Rollover. Person is out of vehicle with bystanders. Checking for injuries now. Updated to minor injuries. Patient was transported via ground ambulance, and roadway is clear.

Copperopolis, CA....Copper Canyon Baptist Church offers some wonderful kids/youths programs.....Copper Kids’ Club is a mid week outreach ministry for kids in the community. This is an opportunity for kids to experience Jesus through worship, drama, games, small groups, crafts, and service. The Copper Kids’ Club leaders are dedicated to engaging and serving the children of Copperopolis. All leaders have gone through an application process. Copper Kids’ Club is designed for kids in Kindergarten through 6th grade. WE do have a Pre-K class that has limited space. The first ten registered Pre-Kers will be taken for the year. ....

Copperopolis, CA....The Copper horses are now safe....."Special Thanks to everyone who helped get these horses rescued including; RE Horse Rescue of Tuolumne County, Calaveras County Sheriffs Department Animal Services. Thanks also to the many concerned local citizens who spread the word about the urgency of the situation as well as Sue Andrus of Copperopolis who helped move horses with her personal truck and horse trailer."

Calaveras County, CA...."My name is Sarah Kraemer and I am a senior at Bret Harte High School. For my senior project I am directing a two act play which I have written. The play is about the French Revolution and is entitled 'Se Terminer' . The play is due to show at the Bret Harte Theater on February twelfth with a matinee at 2 p.m. and an evening performance at 7 p.m. Admission will be $5 for students and seniors and $8 for adults."....

UPDATE 1/29/11: Horses Are Being Rescued Now by Sheriffs Office

Copperopolis, CA....UPDATE 1/29/11 10:30am: Sheriff's Office is picking up horses now. Update 4:30pm: According to Darren Spellman, Sheriffs Office is delivering a warrant to the home tomorrow morning. Update 2:57pm: Have spoken with Sheriff Gary Kuntz. He promises to have this issue resolved by 5pm today. Update 2pm: We are awaiting a call back from the Sheriff's office as to the status of this. According to Darren Spellman, the owners were given until Monday to cooperate. "Re-Horse Rescue in Tuolumne County has offered to take them all, at least temporarily until they are physically stable again. They will need medical care in addition to just food. They are beyond just being hungry and muddy. At this moment Captain Murray from the Sheriff's office is obtaining a warrant from a county judge to seize ....

Calaveras County, CA.....The Calaveras Winegrape Alliance will host its February Wines of the World event Thursday, Feb. 10 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Murphys Historic Hotel, 488 Main St., Murphys. Heralding in Valentine's Day celebrations, guest presenter is Gary Zucca, owner of Zucca Mountain Vineyards, will pour a variety of Ports and dessert wines paired with chocolates and sweet treats. "Life is too short to eat dessert last," exclaimed Carrie Nelson, CWA administrator. "We invite folks to treat that someone special to an early Valentine event, eat dessert first, and end the evening with dinner at the hotel with a $5 discount off each entrée.".....

Copperopolis, CA...I was in one of those philosophical discussions over a beer at the Pub with a friend that I enjoy bantering with because he’s terribly bright but mentally unstable . . . kind of like the best of both worlds. We have a lot of those in Copper . . . and it scares me that I understand their thought process. He made a comment that we had problems with out politics . . . I countered with the comment that we did not have problems with our politics we instead have politics in our problems. He thought about that and quickly agreed.....
