San Andreas Fire Department Chief Don Young was kind enough to invite thepinetree.net to observe Calaveras County Fire Academy students as they were taught how to safely extract injured motorists from a variety of vehicles and scenarios...

Jenny Lind, Mark Twain and Bret Scored on Wins. Now Winners will move on to the state championships on May 12th. The results are enclosed...

Mountain Ranch Man Arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon

(Jenny Lind, CA) On 04/16/12 at approx. 6:30 PM Calaveras Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 10500 block of Knoll Drive in Jenny Lind for a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival the deputies contacted the suspect, Maurice Ryerson Ross (27) of Mountain Ranch, who was standing out front of the residence. Mr. Ross allegedly struck the adult male victim (name withheld) over the head with a machete, causing moderate but non-life threatening injuries. The victim was airlifted to a Modesto area hospital for his injuries....

San Andreas, CA...CHS goals scored by Lisa Valtierra, MariaJose Solis, Rosie Meza, and Kristin Kruenegel. "The Bullfrogs battled us hard tonight but once again our defense was outstanding. Goalkeeper Gabby Krigbaum made some great saves for us and everyone contributed to the big win." Coach Rob Leetham CHS record now (13-3-1, 8-1)

San Andreas Woman Arrested for Commercial Burglary

(San Andreas, CA) On 04/09/12 Calaveras Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the San Andreas Mini Mart for a report of a theft. Upon arrival the deputies learned that the store owner witnessed Krista Lyn Jardine (25) of San Andreas, pick up a bottle of wine from the store, put it in her purse, and walk out the store. The store owner confronted Ms. Jardine outside and brought her back inside the store without incident. When questioned, Ms. Jardine admitted to stealing the wine. She said that she did not have money to pay for the wine...
