CCSO Looking For Citizens Who Took The Citizens From Firefall Jewelers

Valley Springs, CA...On 05/30/17 at about 5:40 AM, The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office responded to Firefall Jewelers in Valley Springs for a commercial burglary. Once on scene, Deputies observed damage to the front door of the business. A search was conducted of the interior of the store; however, no suspects were located. Deputies reviewed video surveillance and observed two male subjects forcibly enter the business. The suspects took over fifty Citizen Brand watches and other miscellaneous gold and silver jewelry, amounting to over $14,500 in loss of merchandise. Photos of the subjects are enclosed...

Board of Supervisors Summary Publication

San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors adopted an ordinance to amend Section 15.06.032 and Section 15.06.041 of Chapter 15.06, Flood Damage Prevention of the Calaveras County Code. Section 15.06.032 is revised to include reference to the use of Base Flood Elevations from the Atkins Study as Best Available Data. Section 15.06.041 is revised to identify the Planning Director as the FEMA Floodplain Administrator for Calaveras County. The full text of this Ordinance amendment is available at the Planning Department and at the office of the Clerk of the Board, Government Center, 891 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas, CA.

Poor Grades Led To Threats Against Local Schools

Angels Camp, CA...On May 30, 2017 at approximately 9:45 PM, the Angels Camp Police Department received information of a possible threat to “shoot up” Mark Twain Elementary School, Calaveras River Academy, Calaveras High School, and the Angels Camp Police Station. The threat was made by students of Mark Twain Elementary School through social media and did not name any specific students by name.

Busy Weekend For San Andreas CHP! 1 Fatality, 4 Arrests, 28 Citations & 9 Accidents

San Andreas, CA...In Calaveras County, four (4) people were arrested by the CHP between 6:00 pm Friday and 11:59 pm Monday. Three (3) were arrested for DUI while one (1) was arrested for Evading Arrest. Twenty eight (28) citations were issued during this time period. Most were for speeding including several mechanical violations. There was one (1) citation issued to a driver for failing to wear a helmet and for not having an OHV – Green Sticker.

Minor Injuries In Rear Ender On Hwy 49 North Of San Andreas

San Andreas, CA...A 2015 Chev Malibu, 2016 Toyota RAV4 & 2000 Ford F450 were traveling northbound on State Route 49, just north of Murray Creek Bridge. The Malibu was stopped, making a left turn into the MACT Health Clinic and the Toyota RAV4 was stopped behind her. The Ford F450 was traveling approximately 40 mph when the driver failed to observe stopped traffic in the front of him. The Ford collided with the rear of the Toyota and propelled it into the rear of the Malibu. The driver of the Chevy was transported by ambulance to Sutter Amador Hospital and a passenger in V-2 was transported by ambulance to Mark Twain Medical Center.

Murphys CA...Texas 4000 Riders to Meet Cancer Patients. The Mark Twain Cancer Center will welcome the Texas 4000 to beautiful downtown Murphys Park on the afternoon of Sunday, June 25th. This peloton of University of Texas student/athletes will pedal the brutal 4000 miles from Austin, Texas to Anchorage, Alaska to support cancer awareness and prevention. The welcome celebration will include the rider’s sharing tales of their adventure with the audience, and connecting with current oncology patients.
